A quickly growing society, NUFS aims to be one of the University’s leading society’s, building on the success of the past academic year of 2016/2017. A society for all, Newcastle University Finance Society is here to provide all current and potential members with the information, skills and routes needed to gain a place in the finance industry. No matter what your degree we look to combine our kno
wledge of the financial sector to help our members better understand how their degree can lead them into a career in finance and we stress that individuals of all levels of knowledge and experience are warmly welcomed. Through our focus on careers, we seek to actively help our members progress through their academic careers, enabling you to secure work experience and places on highly competitive summer internships at leading financial institutions, allowing students to get a foot in the door from an early stage. A key aim of the Finance society is to learn from each other so we look for those whose passion outshines their current level of knowledge and encourage a collective strong commitment to the society and importantly each other. One of our core aims is to improve and advance our members’ career prospect and through links with the university Careers Service and current alumni we seek to provide all the support needed for our members, such as through workshops on interview skills. A key part of the society is the social side, this comes in the form of our weekly meetings but also includes extra-curricular events such as our trip to London and chances to bond through planned nights out.
