10:00 to 10:10 – Translating national physical activity policy in local practice: 10 guiding principles, developed by our regional FusePAW network. Ben Rigby, PhD student, Durham University and Dr Peter van der Graaf, NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Research (KMR) Fellow, Teesside University.

The Fifth Fuse Physical Activity Pop Up Workshop: From science to the real world - How can we improve physical activity practices locally and nationally?

As well as an exciting presentation from Adrian Bauman (Emeritus Professor, The University of Sydney), we will explore the 10 guiding principles developed by our regional FusePAW network to support transferable knowledge exchange activities and help implementation of national Physical Activity policy in local contexts.

The Fuse Physical Activity Group workshops aim to build research capacity in physical activity related public health research for those working in policy, practice and academia by sharing knowledge, providing networking opportunities, and stimulating debate across sector boundaries.

Register now for the third Fuse Physical Activity Pop Up Workshop – Physical Activity, the Environment and Wider System Change!

This online workshop will be held on Thursday 22 October from 17:00 to 18:30 UK time via Zoom. Firstly, Professor James Sallis (University of California) will be discussing his work on the International Physical Activity and Environment Network (IPEN) Adult Study and other relevant studies. Following this, Mal Fitzgerald will be providing an update on You’ve Got This, the Local Delivery Pilot in South Tees funded by Sport England. Finally, one of our popular informal coffee socials will round up the session, allowing everyone an opportunity for discussion.
