The week after next we are very excited that Scouts, Explorers and Network will be taking part in a whole range of watersports, including paddleboarding, surfing and rowing.

Then we will be having an end of term pizza night for all our adults to say thank you for an amazing Scouting year!

And don't forget August is the deadline for entries into the Community Action Challenge, which units and groups have been working on all year

Have you seen the latest Scout Partners email...free books are available for our younger sections...don't miss out!

1 in 10 children don't have a book at home to call their own. Twinkl are helping Scouts combat this by donating 60,000 books to our Beavers and our Squirrels. We've even had a message from Dwayne added in the foreword!

Twinkl will also be sponsoring the Beavers Book Reader and the Squirrels Story Time badges, and we've been working on some exciting new activities for both.

You can either secure your books for free when you buy the new branded badges through Scout Store, or by filling in this expression of interest form before 31 July.

Alongside the books and badges, Twinkl are also giving every Squirrels Drey free access to their site for a full year. They have lots of helpful resources for your programme planning including colouring in sheets, themed worksheets, and behaviour management activities.

If you have a Squirrel Team Leader role on My Membership you'll have received a separate email last week with instructions on how to log in, alongside the unique sign in code for your Drey.

Just one week until our Cubs 110th Birthday Party...silent disco, grass sledges, water games and a fire engine...should be a great day!!

Also just under a month to Watersports Week and at the end of term our Volunteers' Pizza night!

So much going on!! As usual thanks go to our Events Teams working hard behind the scenes to make the magic happen!

This we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who make Newcastle Gang Show happen. They give so much of their time and skills for free to enable young people in Scouts & Guides to engage in the arts, learn skills for life and find a place to belong 🎭

From our creative team to our trustees, wardrobe, stage crew, stewards, gang skipper, make up, front of house, finance, admin and so much more; we couldn't do it without you 🎉

Cheers to our volunteers! We think you're pretty amazing 👏

Our final Volunteers Week thank you! This is for the ones who we never photograph (not intentionally!). The Trustees, the Treasurers, the Chairs, board members, non-members, parents who help us with getting young people to camp or driving equipment around. You are amazing and we couldn’t do it without you.

A less obvious thank you today to those who maintain the buildings that our a young People use each week and the sites they use throughout the year for camps etc.

Without you painting, repairing, updating and generally looking after those sites we’d have far less for our Young People to have access to. Just a selection of those sites shown here. If you have any others you’d like to show please send them to Ellie Barwick. Thank you!

Thank you to our events organisers! Huge thanks to our volunteers who have been organising the big, one off and annual events. They make a huge difference when it comes to connecting the Young People across our city. Whether it’s Gang Show, birthday parties, the District Campfire or festive celebrations, it builds our district in to a place we love to be. Thank you!
