🌻 Mindful Monday: May Reflections 🌻
“Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” — Seneca
May was a beautiful month in so many ways. I turned 29, celebrated in Barcelona, spent time with friends, and was reminded how lucky I am to have such wonderful people around me. 🥰
It had its difficulties, as all months do, but it was an unforgettable one. I always love writing my monthly review posts because they give me a chance to pause, look back, and relive those little moments again.
How was your May? What went well? What do you wish could have gone differently? 💭
Take a few moments to reflect, and see what those answers might teach you as you move through this month and beyond.

🖐️ Wisdom Wednesday: The Mark We Leave Behind 🖐️
“No man steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.” — Heraclitus
I came across this handprint recently and it made me stop for a moment.
No two fingerprints are the same. No two lives are the same either.
Each of us carries our own experiences, joys, regrets, lessons, and hopes. We all leave our mark on the world, and more often than we realise, it is found not in fame or grand accomplishments, but in the small ways we love, help, create, and show up for others.
Perhaps wisdom lies not in trying to live someone else's life, but in embracing our own. After all, there has never been another you, and there never will be again. 🌿

🌿 Temperance Tuesday: Waste Less, Appreciate More 🌿
On Saturday, I had a little look on the Too Good To Go app and saw that Starbucks had some bags available for collection later that day. So I thought, why not?
It was less than a ten-minute walk away, which made it the perfect excuse to take Lily for a little waddle and pick up some treats for us along the way. 🐾
For around £15, we ended up with what must have been close to £70 worth of food. Definitely not all for me, I promise. 😄
Food waste is something I find really difficult to understand. We spend so much money on food, throw so much of it away, and yet so many people still go without. And that’s before we even think about all the time, energy, water, labour, packaging, and transport that goes into making food in the first place.
That’s why I always feel pleased when I see companies using apps like Too Good To Go. It feels like a small but meaningful way to make better use of what already exists.
Temperance isn’t just about having less. Sometimes, it’s about using what we have more wisely.
Less waste. More appreciation. A little more thought before we buy new. 🌿
Have you ever used Too Good To Go? If so, what’s the best thing you’ve rescued?

🌸 Mindful Monday: Notice the Beauty 🌸
“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” — Marcus Aurelius
Sometimes mindfulness isn't about doing more. It's about noticing more.
The flowers that are blooming. The warmth of the sun. The birdsong in the morning. The cup of tea in your hands. The little moments we so often rush past.
Life doesn't always ask us to seek extraordinary things. Sometimes it simply invites us to pause and appreciate what is already here.
Whatever this week holds, I hope you find a few moments to slow down and notice the beauty around you. 🌿💛

✨ Fortitude Friday: Better Than Any Script ✨
Today’s Daily Stoic was a reminder that life will not always hand us clear instructions.
As Epictetus says, instead of asking, “Tell me what to do,” perhaps the better request is: “Train my mind to adapt to any circumstance.”
And I think that is such an important part of fortitude.
Because strength is not always about knowing exactly what comes next. Sometimes it is about trusting that, even when life takes us off script, we can still meet the moment with steadiness.
We spend so much of life trying to prepare for every possible outcome. Planning, anticipating, worrying, rehearsing. But no matter how carefully we prepare, life has a way of changing the scene without warning.
And maybe the real work is not to have a perfect script for every situation, but to build the kind of mind that can respond when the script disappears.
🌿 To be flexible rather than rigid.
🛠️ Resourceful rather than helpless.
⚓ Steady rather than easily shaken.
That, to me, is fortitude. Not never being caught off guard, but learning to trust ourselves when we are.
So today’s reminder is this: you do not need to know exactly what to do in every situation. You just need to keep training the part of you that can pause, adapt, and take the next right step.
Where in your life are you being asked to adapt rather than cling to the script? ☕✨

✨ Thankful Thursday: Grateful for Places That Stay With Us ✨
This week, I’m feeling grateful for those places that become part of the memory.
This was taken in my favourite wine bar in Barcelona, Pet Nat. A quiet corner, a glass of wine, a candle burning beside me, and one of those moments where life felt beautifully simple for a little while.
Sometimes gratitude is not about the big, dramatic things. Sometimes it is simply about noticing when life feels good, and letting yourself be there while it is happening.
So today, I’m grateful for the little places and moments that remind me to slow down, look around, and think: this is enough. 🍷✨
What place are you grateful for this week? 💭

✨ Wisdom Wednesday: There Is Wisdom in Enjoyment ✨
This week, I’m reflecting on pleasure, presence, and the quiet wisdom of letting ourselves fully receive the good.
After a little break and a recent holiday, I found myself thinking about how often we try to capture, share, preserve, or perfect the good moments while they are happening. A beautiful meal. A glass of wine. A street in a new city. A moment that makes us think, this is really lovely.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to share joy. But sometimes the desire to share can turn into a need to prove, keep, or hold onto something that was never meant to last forever.
Today’s post is about learning to enjoy the good without gripping it too tightly. To be here while we are here. To let a moment be enough without asking it to become permanent.
Because the good does not have to last forever to be real. It does not have to be shared to have mattered. It does not have to be perfect to be beautiful.
What is one good moment you’re trying to let yourself fully receive right now? ☕✨

✨ Temperance Tuesday: A Full Life Isn’t a Full Calendar ✨
Temperance is not only about what we eat, drink, spend, or consume. Sometimes it is about how we spend our time.
How many plans we say yes to. How much space we leave for rest. How often we confuse being busy with living well.
This post was a gentle reminder that a meaningful life does not have to be packed to the edges. Sometimes, the wiser thing is to make room. To choose our yes with care. To protect the quiet moments. To remember that our time is our life.
A full life can still be a spacious one. ☁️✨

✨ Mindful Monday: Returning Slowly ✨
After a little two-week break, I’m easing myself back in gently. To work, social media, and normal life.
This photo was taken during my recent trip to Barcelona, in one of those quiet moments where everything felt still for a second. No rushing. No needing to share it instantly. Just standing there, taking it in, and letting the moment be enough.
Sometimes stepping away is exactly what we need. A little space to live, notice, rest, and let the good moments land before turning them into words.
So, as this new week begins, maybe this is your gentle reminder too: you are allowed to return slowly. You are allowed to take your time. ☕✨

🛫 Fortitude Friday: The Courage to Switch Off 🛫
For the next couple of weeks, I’m stepping away from the usual routine and heading off to Barcelona for eight nights. ☀️
That means less time online, no replying to emails, no social media admin, and a lot more time spent wandering new streets, eating good food, reading, resting, and properly being present for a little while.
I think there’s a quiet kind of courage in allowing yourself to fully switch off sometimes. In stepping away from productivity, notifications, and the pressure to always be available. The world keeps moving, and often the emails, algorithms, and endless to-do lists can wait far more than we think they can.
Stoicism reminds us that rest is not laziness. Space to reflect, breathe, explore, and reconnect with life is important too. 🌿
Although I’ll be offline for the most part, I do have two new Wise Words pieces scheduled while I’m away, so if you’d like some thoughtful Sunday reading while I’m gone, you can still subscribe below. 💌
Here’s to slower mornings, meaningful conversations, little moments of beauty, and returning home feeling inspired again. Oh, and lots of tapas and vino! 🍷
