A space to connect.🔗✨

Introducing ‘The Snug’. A room to be safe and seek guidance. Young people are encouraged to be open and seek support. A quiet space to learn, to expand, to reflect. It’s important to feel grounded and supported. This space lends itself to listening and growing. Young people in our building can use this room for a quiet space when working toward accredited qualifications, to help with focus and attention. Nova mentors are on hand to facilitate group and individual conversations that contribute to personal development. Our aim here at Nova is to offer bespoke learning experiences and opportunities, encouraging success on every pathway. Relationships are at the centre of everything we do. Our consistent wellbeing check-ins with Nova counsellors help young people to develop emotional literacy, practice regulation techniques and strengthen their sense of belonging. Our sessions directly support personal development, resilience building and positive communication.

We listen, we reflect, we grow. 🌱✨

A space to create. A space to grow. 🎨✨
Introducing our Creative Suite…

This space was designed with inspiration in mind. Our young people have the freedom to express themselves, explore with their creativity and become who they want to be. We offer creative awards and recognised qualifications.

Our Creative Suite offers a vibrant, practical pathway where young people can develop real-world skills, applicable to careers and lived experiences. Hands-on learning approaches bring skills of textile and craft to provide meaningful opportunities while working through accredited courses.

Through practical projects, enterprise challenges and applied creative tasks, young people develop independence. Learners gain essential life and vocational skills such as textiles, up-cycling and craft production. Centred around portfolio building that harness and strengthen fine-motor skills, organisation techniques and confidence growth, the space allows young people to see their ideas come to life. Future pathways are created with the holistic approach to education, creative a safe and nurturing approach to exploration. Our relational, trauma-informed approach provides strong foundations for growth and personal development, creating bespoke sessions for individuals to engage and feel a sense of belonging.

Day 5 of Mental Health Week - Our Sensory Room.
Here our young people have a calm oasis to regulate, reflect and reconnect. If they are feeling overwhelmed, desire space to think clearly or need 5 minutes to reset, they can sit in comfort. Our room is filled with comfortable regulation spaces and therapeutic resources to support wellbeing. Here at Nova Newcastle we provide young people with the autonomy to manage their emotions and seek guidance on their terms - we do not have a time frame on regulation. Our safe and calm space encourages decompression. Emotional wellbeing is at the heart of our practice here at Nova.

Day 4 of Mental Health week ❤️
Relational circles in our shared space create the conditions for safety, co‑regulation and belonging. They help young people practise emotional literacy, share their voice without pressure, and experience healthy connection, all proven protective factors for mental wellbeing. Circles remind our Young People: you’re part of something and you matter here.

In the same space, we eat breakfast and lunch together, play board games, chat, laugh, and simply spend time alongside one another. These everyday moments of shared routine and low‑pressure connection strengthen the same things our circles build trust, regulation, and a sense of community.

When young people experience predictable, caring interactions across the day, their nervous systems settle. They feel safer. They feel held. And that safety is the foundation of positive mental health. ❤️

Day 2 of Mental Health Week.
Our fitness suite is more than a room with equipment.
Movement supports positive mental health, it reduces stress, releases mood‑boosting chemicals, improves sleep, and helps regulate the nervous system.
Whether it’s the treadmill, the rowing machine, boxing work, or a calm yoga session, physical activity helps us feel grounded, focused and ready for the day.
At NOVA, both young people and staff use the space because exercise isn’t just about fitness, it’s a powerful tool for emotional wellbeing and everyday regulation.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week. Each day this week, we’ll highlight how we champion positive mental health and wellbeing.

At NOVA, mental health support isn’t an add‑on, it’s woven into everything we do.
Our relational practice means young people are met with curiosity, compassion and consistency every single day.

With access to a Level 3 trained counsellor, Drawing & Talking therapy, quiet spaces for mindfulness, and a provision designed to help young people feel safe, seen and able to explore passions and interests, we create the conditions where wellbeing can grow.

This Mental Health Week, we’re celebrating the courage of young people and the power of connection, safety and belonging ❤️

Our opening days have been a real celebration of everything NAV Pathways stands for.
We’ve welcomed local authorities, outside agencies, schools, young people, families and the community. The feedback has been incredible.

Visitors told us the space feels high‑standard, homely, relational, and that you can see the thought and intention poured into every single room. Many said it helped them truly understand what young people will be getting when they join us. The environment, the support, the sense of belonging and the achievements young people will gain.

If you couldn’t make the dates but would like to come and see the provision for yourself, just get in touch.
Our website is now live with more information.
