Every version of me had a purpose.

Before it had a name, Success Shift had a purpose.

I found these pictures from November 2021, and they brought back so many memories.

It was just after COVID, when we were finally allowed to meet again. We had all spent such a long time apart, and I wanted us to come together properly—not on Zoom, but in the same room.

It was also my 45th birthday.

My daughter had just completed her transplant, and our family had come through one of the hardest seasons of our lives. We had also made our first donation to NHS staff.

There was so much to be grateful for.

That Friday evening, we went for dinner at Colman’s Seafood Temple. We ate, laughed, celebrated my birthday and enjoyed being together again.

The next morning, we held a training called How to Have a Life of Design.

At the time, I wasn’t thinking about creating an annual event. I didn’t have a five-year plan for it, and the name Success Shift didn’t even exist.

I simply wanted to bring people together and create a space where we could talk honestly about our lives, where we were going and what needed to change.

But looking at these pictures now, I realise that this was the first Success Shift.

The dinner on Friday and the training on Saturday—the same format we are returning to for our fifth edition this October.

So much has changed since these photographs were taken. Success Shift has grown, the vision has become clearer, and I have also grown as a woman and as a leader.

But the reason we gather has remained the same.

We come together to have real conversations, learn, reflect and make decisions about the next season of our lives and businesses.

This year feels especially personal because I am preparing to turn 50.

Monday reminder:

You do not have to perform your way into worthiness.
