Having personal experience as a survivor of a political violence attack, these training sessions are critical for our emergency services to learn, prepare and be ready to respond to such tragic and unimaginable events.
In the past I have provided insight as a survivor for the training responders at Manchester had received prior to that attack.
It’s great to see this type of training continued in our own region.
Thank you to all the services involved in this training. I hope you never have to put it into action in real life 🫶

Rhode Island Centre for nonviolence is who I studied Kingian nonviolence training with, and received my certification.
Like the University of Newcastle in our hometown Dr. Kings legacy and message is still very much celebrated today.
The centre for nonviolence and peace studies was founded by Dr Bernard Lafayette who has made it his life’s work to continue Dr Kings legacy, and I am proud to be part of that legacy, and privileged to have received training from him.
Kingian nonviolence is often referred as Dr Kings Final marching orders, as his last convention with Bernard that tragic morning of 4th April 1968, was that their next Civil Rights Movement would be to globalise and institutionalise nonviolence- and that is what Kingian nonviolence training aims to do.
