To everyone who’s asked, wondered, or simply waited patiently — thank you.
This weekend I did something I hadn’t managed since January: I stepped back out and represented Spritely Sustainable CIC again.
It might sound small, but for me it was huge.
Since the start of the year I’ve been dealing with some health challenges that meant I had to step back from public life for a while, including the teaching career I adored and the community work I love.
Stepping away wasn’t easy, and staying away hasn’t been either. But it was necessary, and I’m learning that looking after myself has to come first if I want to keep showing up for the causes and community I care about.
This weekend reminded me why that community means so much.
To my husband, and to Rebecca and Michael — thank you for quietly making Splendour happen for me when I couldn’t quite make it happen for myself. And to everyone who’s stopped me over the past few months just to ask how I was, even on the days I wasn’t ready to answer. You’ve put my mind at rest, and showed me there’s no judgement, it’s okay not to be okay, and your questions come from a place of care 💚
I’m not back to “normal,” and I’m not sure that’s really a thing. But I am finding my feet again, and there’s more happening behind the scenes that I’ll share when the time’s right. For now, I just wanted you to know: I’m okay, I’m grateful, and Spritely is still here.
Thank you for your patience. 💚
