Italian Language Courses in Newark on Trent

20/06/2026

Do you know your fine wine from your plonk? Your Amarone from your Pinot Grigio? We do — and we love talking about it, tasting it, and sharing it.

Even better… we love cheese too.

An unpretentious wine tasting evening with great pairings, relaxed conversation, and a bonus: picking up a few Italian expressions along the way.

“Dobbiamo imparare a ballare sotto la pioggia.” 🌧️

Today in Newark we’ve had rain, grey skies and even hailstones. After spending almost a third of my life in sunny Rome, days like this can still get me down sometimes.

Being self-employed, a single parent, and trying to grow a small business can feel really hard at times. You carry everything yourself and some days the weight of it all feels heavier than others.

But this week’s episode of Blanca, “Senza occhi” put things into perspective for me. The story centres around a character who lost both her sister and her sight. There’s a moment where Blanca speaks about something her father told her when she felt she couldn’t go on anymore: that we have to learn to dance in the rain.

And strangely enough, tonight Facebook reminded me why I love this little town. Without any prompting or pushing from me, NNewark Advertiserhad seen my post about the free Italian sessions and shared it publicly themselves. Such a small gesture perhaps, but it genuinely made me smile.

Little things like that make me love Newark. 🇮🇹❤️🌧️
