Playground Proms

The Lord Mayor was delighted to attend the Playground Proms, a fantastic initiative bringing the joy of live classical music to young people across Leicester.
As a registered charity, Playground Proms is working with ten local schools to deliver inspiring, inclusive workshops led by professional musicians, helping to break down barriers and spark creativity. Each school will enjoy a special prom concert at the end of the programme — a wonderful celebration of music and learning.
Events like this play an important role in nurturing future talent and ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience the magic of live performance.

We had the absolute pleasure of bringing Playground Proms to three schools across Lincolnshire today – and what a joy it was to see so many young people engaging with live music!
From enthusiastic singing to energetic participation, the excitement in each school was truly inspiring. Moments like these remind us just how powerful music can be in bringing communities together and sparking creativity in our young learners.
A huge thank you to all the staff and pupils who made us feel so welcome – we loved every minute!
