Good Evening Everyone,

I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Acting Headteacher at New Abbey Primary School.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know our pupils, staff and families, and to becoming part of such a special community (I have heard lots of amazing things about you😊). I am especially looking forward to welcoming all of our pupils back tomorrow, with a special mention for our new P1s who will start their school journey with us.
There’s lots to look forward to in the year ahead, and I’m very much looking forward to working with you all.

Before the new school year begins,I’d like to give a brief but heartfelt message to the wonderful community of people who have supported me in my role as headteacher of New Abbey Primary (and Kirkbean Primary).

Thank you for your time, for your fundraising support, for your incredibly kind words and for all you do to help our staff team to meet the needs of our wonderful children. We know how lucky we are.

I am going to greatly miss all of you, but feel blessed and privileged to have been a small part of the history of two incredible schools.

Ms Lindsey Kirkwood will be acting head teacher from Wednesday. She is excited and I know you will support her too.

I will remain in touch with the team and will follow the children’s progress at primary and beyond. I know they will continue to ‘Aim high!’.
