✨ Pay It Forward – Making a Difference ✨

School trips, activities and wider experiences are an important part of school life — helping young people build confidence, develop new skills and create memories that last. 🚌📚

Our Pay It Forward Fund helps make sure that financial circumstances don't prevent our young people from taking part.

Contributions are voluntary, but your support can help open doors and create opportunities for learners across our school community. 🤝

Thank you for helping us support every child and make these experiences possible. 💙

🖤Black History Month 🖤

Did you know that two African women, Ellen and Margaret More, were part of the Scottish royal court over 500 years ago?

Around 1504, Ellen and Margaret More worked as paid royal servants and ladies-in-waiting at Edinburgh Castle during the reign of King James IV of Scotland. Historical records show that they were not simply present at court — they were employed members of the royal household and received payment for their work.

Ellen and Margaret lived and worked within the royal court at a time when Scotland was connected to wider European and African worlds through trade, diplomacy and travel.

As we mark Black History Month, stories like theirs help us uncover the diverse experiences of Black people throughout British history and recognise the contributions of those whose lives have too often been overlooked.

🖤 Ellen and Margaret More — part of Scotland's royal history, and part of Britain's Black history.

💐 HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY! 💙

Today we celebrate the wonderful grandparents and grandparent figures in our school community! 👵👴

Grandparents have a special way of filling our lives with stories, wisdom, laughter and memories that last a lifetime. ❤️

Whether they’re nearby or far away, today is a lovely opportunity to let them know just how special they are.

🌟 To all our grandparents — thank you for everything you do!

Today is National Poetry Day.
Take the time to enjoy, discover, write and share poetry with your friends and family.

In Musselburgh’s heart, a school stands strong,
Where every young person can find where they belong.
A place where our students learn, discover and grow,
With dreams to pursue and ambitions to show.

Honesty guides us in all that we do,
To speak with integrity, to be fair and true.
Respect in our actions, in all that we say,
Valuing each other as we go on our way.

And when challenges come and the road isn’t clear,
Perseverance reminds us to face every fear.
To learn from mistakes, to try once again,
To keep moving forward through struggle and strain.

From classrooms to corridors, stages and fields,
Our young people discover the talents they wield.
They strive for achievement, they reach for the sky,
With courage to dream and the will to try.

We celebrate achievements, big and small,
And lift one another whenever we fall.
And rise once again, with determination and pride,
Knowing that there's a whole community by our side.

For whatever the future, whatever they choose,
The lessons they carry are theirs to use.
With honesty, respect and perseverance each day,
They'll shape their own futures and find their own way.

Musselburgh Grammar — a school with a heart,
Where learning and community never stand apart.
Together Everyone Achieves More, we proudly say,
United in purpose, we lead the way.

🖤 BLACK HISTORY MONTH 🖤

Black History Month is an opportunity to learn, celebrate and recognise the rich contributions of Black people, heritage and culture to our society.

This month, we’re encouraging our school community to listen, learn and celebrate diversity — recognising the different cultures, histories and experiences that make our school and our communities stronger. 🌍✨

Our differences make us who we are, and there is always more to learn from one another. 💙
