Providing a safe and nurturing environment where children are at the heart of everything we do.

08/10/2026

🌳 Following our committee meeting we have been busy enhancing and developing our garden resources and spaces 🌳

Today the children who were involved with the meeting helped to set up some new resources outside. They were all so helpful and with a bit of thought we worked out where to store everything. Everyone was really pleased to see their shopping lists fulfilled! We discussed how to take care of the space going forward and the children declared themselves to be "Garden Captains!". The children also helped us to recycle all of the packaging and worked together to carry the boxes out.

We can't wait to see what learning opportunities and play come to life with these new resources and environments.

We were warmly welcomed back to Minton Care this week with a new group of some of our oldest Goslings.

We explored the garden and lounge and unleashed our creativity to create beautiful sun catchers and spikey hedgehogs! We also enjoyed a tasty picnic snack.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt Sensory Walk 🐻👣

The Goslings have explored different materials representing the environments the family travel through throughout their hunt for a bear while walking barefoot. Being barefoot allows the children to experience the different sensory sensation each material offers.

🎶🥁🎤 Music Bugs 🎤🥁🎶

We were really pleased to welcome Michelle from Music Bugs Norwich back this week.

We have booked Michelle to run fortnightly sessions with our Ducklings throughout the Autumn term, and we are really looking forward to seeing the positive impact these sessions will have on the children's communication and language skills - all while having lots of fun!

'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' 🐻

This month sees the return of one of our favourite stories.

September is a month full of transitions and by choosing a well loved story as our curriculum pick it ensures children feel secure and confident when approaching changes as they know there is familiarity and consistency.

We have all been getting involved in a variety of activities. Some of which include number hunts, map making and sensory tray exploration.

Mini Builders 👷

There's often a job to do at Mulberry Bush Day Nursery - Mulbarton.
On this occasion we had some Goslings help to build a radiator cover.
They had to work as a team, taking each piece out of the box, recognising the numbers on each part and then laid them out ready to start the build.
Together, with help from a grown up, they successfully found the right screws and joined the pieces together.
What a brilliant build!

🦷 🪥
To continue to promote oral health and hygiene the Goslings have had a session with Sarah, an oral health educator, from BrightBites. Sarah spoke to the children about the importance of brushing our teeth and showed us the best techniques to use.

Exploring the wonder of the Solar Eclipse 🌑🌞

Some of our friends have arrived this morning talking about the solar eclipse so we have been finding out more about this through some experimental activities and from some online learning resources.

We have discovered how the Moon can move in front of the Sun and create a shadow on Earth. We've had a chance to create our own eclipse using torch light and through mark making opportunities too.

We can't wait to hear about the children's experiences tomorrow 🌑🌞

🌳 This term our committee meeting has focused on our garden spaces and thinking about improvements and developments the children would like to see.

We spent time discussing what we like to do in the garden, looked through some catalogues and of course, enjoyed some refreshments.

We've been left with lots of ideas about how to develop our environment and a big to do list! 🌳

We are so lucky and proud to have a fantastic team at Mulberry Bush... and leading them all is Emma, our Nursery Manager. Emma has been working at Mulberry Bush in Mulbarton for 20 years! Starting with us as a student, and working her way through the ranks, she really is the backbone of the nursery. Emma's primary goal has always been to ensure that the Mulberry Bush children receive the best care and education possible. Thank you for everything you have done, Emma, and everything you continue to do. We look forward to many more years together ###
