The Lisa Project gets schools and care homes moving 👋

Such a wonderful intergenerational event last week, with residents from one of our partner care homes visiting children at one of our partner schools. ❤️

As always, it was so special to see new friendships being made between young and old alike, and to watch everyone singing, signing and connecting together.

A lovely reminder of exactly why The Lisa Project exists… and also of just how much I love my job! ❤️

💜 Parents & carers – we’d love to hear from you!

Yesterday I shared our idea for a new singing and signing wellbeing group for parents and carers of neurodivergent children.

Now we’d love you to help us shape it!

We’ve put together a short questionnaire to find out what you’d actually want from a group like this – what would make it work for you and whether it’s something you’d be interested in.

💜 We're thinking about trying something new…

I've been thinking about whether The Lisa Project could create a wellbeing group specifically for parents and carers of neurodivergent children.

This idea is a personal one for me. As a mum of two neurodivergent children, I know how much time and energy can go into supporting our children, and how easily our own wellbeing can end up somewhere near the bottom of the list!

So what if we created something just for us?

A relaxed group where you can switch off for an hour, learn some BSL to familiar songs, meet other parents and carers who get it, have a laugh and do something that's actually for YOU. 💜

No singing and no signing experience needed – and absolutely no pressure to sing!

But rather than assume what other parents and carers would want, I'd love you to help us shape it.

I'll be sharing a short questionnaire soon to find out what you think.

Happy Father's day to all you dads!

We may be called The Lisa Project, but my dad is a big part of the work we do. The connection he had with my daughter was so special and became all the more important as his alzheimers got worse. On his saddest days, she would brighten them for him and it was a beautiful thing to see.

He was my inspiration for our intergenerational singing and signing sessions. Seeing the joy it brings our residents connecting with our little visitors from schools and preschools, takes me right back to moments like this photo.

Happy heavenly Father's day Dods! We love you and miss you xx

💜 A very proud moment for The Lisa Project 💜
When I started The Lisa Project in memory of my sister Lisa, I could never have imagined the journey it would take us on.
What began with a simple belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard and connected has grown into something truly special.
Through singing, signing and bringing generations together, we've had the privilege of creating meaningful connections, reducing isolation and promoting inclusion within our communities.
We're incredibly grateful to The National Lottery and to National Lottery players for supporting community projects like ours and helping us continue this work.
Most of all, thank you to every school, care home, participant, volunteer and supporter who has been part of our journey so far. This recognition belongs to all of you. 💜

💜 Why The Lisa Project? 💜

The Lisa Project was created in memory of my Deaf sister, Lisa.

Her life highlighted the importance of communication, inclusion, and ensuring that people who are often overlooked feel seen, heard, and valued.

Today, through singing, signing, and bringing generations together, we create opportunities for connection, understanding, and belonging for people of all ages.

Because everyone deserves to feel included. 💜
