Our School Council had an unforgettable visit to the Houses of Parliament, where we were warmly welcomed by our local MP, Siobhain McDonagh.
From exploring one of the UK's most iconic buildings to learning about democracy in action, the children were inspired every step of the way. They asked thoughtful questions, represented our school brilliantly and even held their final School Council meeting of the year in an official Parliamentary meeting room! 🙌
A huge thank you to Siobhain for sharing her time, knowledge and passion with us. It was a fascinating experience and a day our pupils will remember for years to come.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the diversity of our school community! 🌍✨
Last Friday, pupils proudly wore clothing representing their own countries, cultures and family heritage as part of our Languages Week celebrations. It was fantastic to see so many nationalities represented and to celebrate the rich mix of backgrounds that make Aragon such a vibrant and inclusive school.❤️

Last week, Reception enjoyed their first school trip to Bocketts Farm! They rode the tractor, fed the animals, watched the pig race and petted some of the smaller animals. 🐷🚜🐰

The sun was shining, the children had a fantastic time and their behaviour was brilliant throughout. ☀️

Last week, we were thrilled to be awarded the OPAL Platinum Award for Outstanding Play Provision – placing Aragon in the top 2% of primary schools in the UK for the quality of our playtimes.
This achievement represents four years of hard work, creativity and commitment to giving our children the very best opportunities to play, explore and thrive. We couldn’t be more delighted.
A huge congratulations to our incredible OPAL Play Team, whose passion and dedication have been instrumental in making this possible.
Our OPAL mentor, Bethan, said: “Your Platinum Award puts you in the top 2% of UK primary schools for the quality of your play offer. It is an absolute credit to the entire team, the school, the children, the community, and the work you’ve put into improving your playtimes.”
She also praised the school’s play culture, highlighting how children are making use of so much more of the site, and recognising the team’s impressive development in playwork practice and risk management.
Thank you to our staff, families and, of course, our wonderful children for embracing play with such enthusiasm. This award belongs to the whole school community. 💙💛

Healthy Me Week is coming! 💪✨
From Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July, we’ll be celebrating with our theme Ignite Your Spark! 🔥
Across the week, children will take part in a range of new sports and activities, enjoy visits from external providers and take part in their Sports Day. Highlights include a whole-school House Sports Afternoon and a special street dance assembly.
Children can wear their sports kit all week — please ensure full Aragon PE kit is worn on their Sports Day (and ideally on Monday too).
We’re looking forward to a brilliant week! 🙌

A fantastic learning experience for Year 4 at the Baitul Futuh Mosque 🕌
As part of their RE topic on The Importance of Scripture, children learned more about the Qur’an and how it is respected in everyday worship.
Visits like this help bring learning to life and support children in developing a deeper understanding of different faiths and communities ✨

🎉 Picnic on the Playground – Save the Date!
On Friday 26th June, we’re delighted to be hosting our Picnic on the Playground – and this year it’s extra special.
This joyful afternoon will be a celebration of our wonderful Headteacher, Mrs Ryder, who is retiring at the end of the school year. We’ll also be saying a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to our much-loved long-serving staff members, Mrs Allan and Mrs Blackburn, as well as wishing Miss Franks all the very best as she moves on to a new school.
We warmly invite all families to join us for this lovely community event. Bring along a blanket or camp chairs, some snacks, and everything you need to relax and enjoy an afternoon together. It’s a great opportunity to spend time with other families and staff, share smiles, and celebrate as a school community.
