In 2011 this community event was created and organised by a committee of people including local scouts, businesses, faith groups and schools and was formerly known as the Bilton Community Fayre and held on the adjacent fields of Bilton Junior School and Rugby High School for girls. It was hugely successful from the outset and very quickly ideas ‘snowballed’ and the final event proved phenomenal; r
aising well in excess of £4000 for local charities and organisations, many thousands more for local businesses and the economy, as well as vital marketing and brand awareness. A clicker count of over 4000 people attended during the course of the day. It is anticipated that the event will emulate the success of the Bilton Community Fayre and simply relocate to a more rural ‘out of town’ location, (but still only a few miles from the centre of Rugby) to enable visitors to enjoy a day out in the countryside! Plans are already under way to repeat the main stage sponsorships with Eddie Stobart and Rugby FM. The 2016 event is to be held on Saturday 16th July 2016 and, again this year will be an
all-day event. Gates will open to the public at 11.00am and close at 4.00pm. There
will be staged arrival and set up system as in previous years with full details issued
to organisations confirmed nearer the time. The event will be held on the fields and grounds of The Revel Primary school in the
village of Monks Kirby and it is hoped that we will draw and involve all 8 of the
surrounding Revel villages. The address can be found in the contact page. I am pleased to announce that Lord & Lady Denbigh have given their very kind
permission for public parking on the private parkland of the Denbigh Estate and we
are also grateful for the permission of Alwyn Williams for facilitating this. An off road access path will then be provided along a short field headland to access the main site. Our thanks also to R & T Ensor Farms for making this possible. This will ensure there is no parking on the roads around the village and helps with traffic management and public safety.
