🌟 What a wonderful first day! 🌟

It has been lovely to welcome all of our children back to St John’s and see and hear the school filled with happy faces and laughter once again. 💛

Our Reception children enjoyed meeting their Year 6 buddies and beginning what we are sure will be some very special friendships. 🥰

Class 2 have been busy developing their digital skills. They shared their summer news with their friends before writing and recording it using Seesaw. 💻🎤

Dosbarth 3 spent time getting to know one another and thinking about the kind of year they would like to have. The children chose words to describe their hopes for the year.

Inspired by the story One Word for Kids, they considered what makes each of them special and created their own “Suitcase of Strengths”, celebrating their talents, achievements, interests and qualities as friends. 🌈

Class 4 have also had a busy and exciting start! They chose their new House Captains and Vice-Captains, met their new talking partners and discovered some of the things they have in common. The children were also given their new Reading Passports, which will encourage them to read more widely, explore different books and discover new authors! 📚✈️

What a positive and thoughtful start to the new academic year. We cannot wait to see what the year ahead brings! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome all of our wonderful children and families back for a brand-new school year. 💛🍎

We hope everyone has had a lovely summer break and is ready for another year full of learning, laughter, friendship and fun. We can’t wait to welcome you all back tomorrow (Thursday 3rd September).

🎉 St John’s School 180th Anniversary Celebration – Tomorrow! 🎉

A reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday 24th June 2026, we will be celebrating 180 years of St John’s School and everyone is welcome to join us.

Whether you are a current parent, pupil, member of staff or governor, or a former pupil, staff member or governor, we would love to see you there as we mark this special milestone in our school’s history.

⛪ Meet at St John’s Church
🕕 6.00pm

Following the celebration in church, teas, coffees and biscuits will be served in the school hall, giving everyone an opportunity to catch up, share memories and celebrate 180 years of St John’s School together.
