πŸ“± Important reminder for September

From September, we are introducing a whole school ban on mobile phones and associated electronic devices throughout the school site, including outdoor areas.

This change follows updated Welsh Government guidance and evidence showing that removing phones from the school day can significantly reduce bullying, improve concentration and support a healthier social environment.

πŸ“΅ Phones should be left at home wherever possible. If a phone is essential for travelling to or from school, it must be switched off and kept safely in a bag or locker.

From September:

πŸ“ Phones and electronic devices must not be visible or used anywhere on school site
πŸ“ Students needing to contact home should do so through the school office
πŸ“ Parents should contact students through the school office
πŸ“ Devices seen or used will be confiscated immediately
πŸ“ Repeated offences will result in further sanctions

We will also continue to support our young people through structured digital literacy teaching, covering social media, sleep, online behaviour and misinformation.

The aim is simple: fewer distractions, safer social spaces and better learning. πŸ’™

Today is a very special day as our Year 10 and Year 11 pupils collected their GCSE results.

There have been nerves, excitement, celebrations. Most importantly, there is so much to be proud of.

Every single one of our young people has worked incredibly hard to get to this point, and today is about celebrating them and their achievements, their resilience, their determination and everything they have overcome along the way.

Whether they got the results they were hoping for or are taking a slightly different path from here, we hope they know just how proud we are of them. GCSE results are only one small part of the incredible people they are becoming.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, parents and families for supporting them every step of the way. And to our Year 11 pupils β€” well done! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. πŸŽ“β€οΈ

Here’s to the next chapter… whatever that may be! ✨

Which play scheme will you attend?

This is free during the school holidays and reminds me of the roller discos at Buckley Sports Centre many many years ago πŸ˜‚
