Today, we have introduced more equipment to our lunchtime provision. Huge thanks to Broughton Fields Fun Friends for all their hard work organising events to fundraise so that we can purchase items like this for our children. Thanks must also go to our families for supporting these events.
The children have been so excited to start using them!

Ray, our local Broughton beekeeper, visited Year 2 yesterday to talk about honey bees. The children learnt all about what a beekeeper does, how honey bees make honey and they enjoyed tasting some honey too.
Please share this if you know any teachers that would like to join our wonderful school.
Thank you

Today has been such a wonderful celebration of diversity in our school. Seeing the children in clothes that represent their culture, hearing them talk about their heritage & that of their families and sharing foods from around the world has been so memorable.
Thank you all for supporting this event.
Today we’re celebrating cultural diversity. The kindness and generosity of our families is amazing, we’ve got to much food to share with the children. Thank you
The School Council were asked to make posters to display around school to remind the children of things they can do to help look after our planet. We're sure you'll agree that they're wonderful and that they will remind us all how important this is.
We would like to thank Broughton Fields Fun Friends for paying for our new headphones. They are fantastic!
Thank you to everyone who supports fundraising events at school - this is just one example of a resource that money from them helps to buy.

Firefly class did an excellent job of recreating 'The Great Wave' by Hokusai today! We can barely see the difference between theirs & the original!
On Broughton Book Day, we would like to provide every child with a book to take home. In order to facilitate this, we are asking for your help. If you have any books you would be happy to donate, please bring them in to school by Wednesday, 13th March. These should be in good condition, as you would wish to receive them. Fiction, non-fiction, paperback, hardcover, picture books and chapter books are all greatly appreciated! Thank you to those who have already donated!
The girls really enjoyed taking part in the Biggest Ever Football Session today.
Here is our newsletter for March. Please note, there will be no newsletter in April due to the Easter holidays. The next newsletter will be shared on the first Friday in May.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Broughton Fields Newsletter - Friday 1st March February's value was gratitude and, to start this newsletter, we have a lot of gratitude to share.
On Wednesday, the children had a brilliant day in the life of an Ancient Greek. They started the day looking at battle formations and tactics and Ancient Greek games. Then in the afternoon, the children had to take on the role of a city planner and make important decisions about the next steps that Athens should take using their knowledge from the day. Lastly, the children completed some Greek writing using reed pens, ink and papyrus paper.
Last half term, our local MP, Ben Everitt, came to meet our newly elected school council members and talk to our Year 6 pupils about life as a MP. The children loved hearing about what an MP does and how Ben became a politician. They also gave him a good grilling with questions ranging from what he is doing to help the cost of living crisis to who his political hero is.
Huge thanks to those parents & pupils that helped to fill our new sandpit this afternoon. Also thanks to those attending the Broughton & Brooklands Community Connectors event that chipped in!!
It was hard work but made easier by the many hands that helped!
Thank you for the offers of help tomorrow. There is a Community Connectors event at school which we don’t want to disturb so there will be no access to the building. Please come straight into the staff car park from 2pm.
On Saturday afternoon we would love some help to move this pile of sand from the caprark into our new sandpit on the field.
Many hands make light work!!
If you have a spade and a wheelbarrow, even better!!! Come along anytime from 2pm. Please comment below and we’d be very happy to see you!
This is the reality of our UNAMED lost property from September to today. It is truly unbelievable.
Weather permitting, this will remain out until hometime. Please check it when you collect your children and take anything you believe to be yours. Anything unclaimed will be thrown away or donated.
Once again, please name your children’s clothing.
Year 2 have written some wonderful journey stories. Today they shared their stories, reading them to a friend.
Here is our latest newsletter 😊
