One of the loveliest moments so far this week was my student arriving excitedly with a new word game they wanted to share. ❤️
We ended up weaving it into our session; laughing, thinking, learning, and building language skills without it feeling like “work” at all. These are the moments that matter most. When children feel comfortable enough to bring their interests, learning becomes something they want to do.
Educational progress doesn’t always come from worksheets. It grows through connection, curiosity, and joy. 🥰

😁 Lots of fun in yesterday’s 1:1 session! 🤪
We started with a game to check-in with the maths objectives for her year group, giving me the chance to gently assess and identify the next steps she’s ready for. From there, we worked through new skills together, taking time to explain, model and build understanding. Nothing particularly fancy, just connection and a love of learning! (Oh and letting her sit on my special chair!)
Then we turned those new skills into a game, giving her the chance to practise, repeat and really embed what she’d just learned — with lots of encouragement and laughs along the way!
Sessions like this might look simple on the surface, but they’re carefully shaped to help a child feel capable, confident and very proud!
Best feedback at the end when she shouted out; “I want another session!” 🥰
Thank you for a fabulously fun and productive hour! I’m so lucky to be able to say that I truly do love my job!

One of my favourite ways to make learning feel lighter is to weave a game or two into my sessions. 🎲
The pressure melts away, motivation rises, and children often don’t even realise how much they’re learning. When learning feels safe and playful, progress naturally follows. 🌟
