📚 How do you make spelling practice something children actually want to do? ✏️

Spelling doesn’t have to mean copying words out over and over again!

I’ve created this weekly spelling homework pack that encourages children to practise their spellings in different ways throughout the week – from syllable splitting and spelling games to dictation and reading challenges. It’s designed to build confidence, improve retention and keep learning varied and engaging.

A little practice each day really does make a big difference. 💛

Looking for a fun way to help your child build stronger vocabulary for the 11+? 🎲📚

In my tutoring sessions, I use interactive activities like Vocabulary Quest to make English practice engaging, memorable and confidence-building.

Children practise:

* word meanings
* synonyms and antonyms
* using ambitious vocabulary in sentences
* thinking carefully under time pressure

Correct answers earn coins, move characters around the board and bring them closer to the treasure — so learning feels purposeful rather than repetitive.

🎃 How do you make maths feel less scary for children? 👻

For me, it’s all about making learning engaging.

I took a standard Year 5 objectives test and transformed it into this Halloween-themed version, keeping the same curriculum objectives but giving it a fun, seasonal twist. 🎃✏️

When children enjoy what they’re doing, they’re often more willing to have a go, build confidence, and challenge themselves.
