Happy Mental Health Awareness Week!

Management have created a wellbeing trolley with snacks for staff to enjoy throughout the week. Hopefully giving everyone the little pick-me-up we all need sometimes!

We’ve just had our monthly staff meeting, and every member of staff received a small thank-you gift in recognition of the incredible hard work they do to support our wonderful Ashbourne Oxley families. We’re so grateful for their dedication, care, and commitment every single day.

We would love to introduce you to Sam, our wonderful Third in Charge! 💖
Sam has worked in childcare for 12 years and brings a wealth of experience, care, and dedication to our setting every single day. She is incredibly passionate about supporting children’s learning and development and loves creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. 🌈✨

We are so lucky to have Sam as part of our team, and we know all of our families and children enjoy seeing her friendly face each day! 💕

Today the children celebrated David Attenborough’s 100th birthday! We dressed as our favourite bugs, insects, animals and plants, and shared with the children some of the many amazing things Sir David Attenborough has done to help us learn about and care for our world.

We also had a very special visit from Patrick the tortoise, where the children enjoyed helping to feed him and learning more about these fascinating animals. It was a wonderful day full of discovery, curiosity and fun!

The toddlers have been bus-ting with excitement! The children in Toddlers created their very own bus, ready to take them on lots of exciting adventures throughout the day.

From imaginative journeys to new destinations, the children had so much fun using their creativity and teamwork to bring their bus to life.

This Friday, we will be celebrating the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. To mark this special occasion, we invite all children attending that day to take part by dressing up as their favourite animals, plants, insects, or anything inspired by the natural world.

We look forward to seeing all the wonderful and creative outfits!

Thank you and sorry for the short notice, we will be making masks/hats with in the rooms also.

🐻✨ We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! ✨🐻

What an exciting adventure we had in toddlers! The children loved exploring the story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” with their friends — splashing through water, squelching through mud, and swishing through the grass. 🌿💦

We explored lots of different textures along the way, feeling soft fur, sticky mud, and crunchy leaves — just like in the story! It was wonderful to see everyone using their senses, imagination, and teamwork. 🧤👣

Big smiles, lots of laughter, and some very brave bear hunters today! 🐾💛

Yesterday at nursery, the children had a wonderful time celebrating by getting creative with painting and learning all about St George. From bright red dragons to beautiful flags, their imaginations really came to life!

We also spent time sharing simple stories and exploring the meaning behind the day in a fun and age-appropriate way. It’s been lovely to see their curiosity and excitement as they learned through play.
