Water Week đź’§
This week, the children completed their act linked to Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, where they learned about the importance of access to clean water and understood that many people around the world do not have this basic necessity.
As part of this, all of the children took part in a sponsored 6km walk to raise money for WaterAid, helping to make a real difference. Throughout the walk, they showed our school values in abundance, demonstrating determination, teamwork and respect, and we are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
They thoughtfully considered the impact that a lack of clean water can have on communities and discussed what can be done to help. It has been wonderful to see how reflective, compassionate and passionate the children have been, and how inspired they are to create positive change. Our children show that the future is bright!
To mark the week, every child received a badge as a reminder of this important global goal and the difference they can make.

We are so proud to again celebrate the fantastic home learning taking place across our school this term! Our approach is all around the children choosing to further their own learning in areas that interests them.
They continue to amaze us with the effort, creativity and enthusiasm they show beyond the classroom.
From creative projects to detailed research, every piece reflects the pride our children take in their learning. Thank you to our families for your continued support in making this possible.
Well done to all of our children, you continue to make us incredibly proud!

Today our school is full of colour, smiles and a brilliant message of inclusion as children and staff have been wearing odd socks to recognise World Down Syndrome Day (Saturday 21st March).
Wearing odd socks is a fun and simple way to celebrate differences, promote understanding and show that everyone is unique, and that’s something to be proud of.
We are so proud of how our children have embraced this, showing kindness, respect and a real sense of community. đź’™

Wow, what a fantastic afternoon hosting our wonderful community for afternoon tea! It was lovely to see so many of you there.
As always, our children made us incredibly proud. Our Year 6 pupils were outstanding servers, and our Reception class did a brilliant job making and serving their Easter nests. We were also treated to some beautiful singing from our school choir, including some impressive solos, as well as performances from the whole school.
A positive community spirit within a school makes all the difference. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special.

The children had a fantastic time today! 🎾
A huge thank you to Toby and the Stony Tennis team for delivering such a fun and inspiring session. The children were fully engaged and loved having the opportunity to try out their tennis skills!
Coach Toby visited Old Stratford Primary School yesterday and it was a fantastic day of tennis! 🎾
The day started with a fun tennis assembly alongside Coach John, where the children enjoyed watching an exciting exhibition match in the school hall – complete with music, cheers, and plenty of high-fives.
After the assembly, Coach Toby spent the day coaching every class in the school, giving all the children a chance to pick up a racket and experience tennis. It was amazing to see so much enthusiasm and energy from everyone involved.
All children received a free session voucher inviting them to come and try tennis at Stony Stratford Tennis Club.
If your child attended Old Stratford Primary School and would like to use their FREE trial session, we would love to welcome them to the club!
💬 Please comment below or send us a message if you’re interested.
We hope everyone had a great day and we look forward to seeing some new faces on court soon!

Happy World Book Day!
Thank you to all of the adults who came into school this morning to read with the children. It was wonderful to see so many of you, and there was such a lovely atmosphere around the school as we celebrated reading together.
We have had a fantastic day celebrating books and stories. This morning we held a special assembly where the children were able to share their amazing costumes, we were so impressed by the creativity!
This afternoon, each class enjoyed a visit from a secret storyteller, which was a lovely surprise for the children. They also had the opportunity to mix with another class and read together, sharing their love of books with different children across the school.
Thank you again for helping us make the day so special and for continuing to support a love of reading at home. đź“–

We have been absolutely blown away by the fantastic home learning projects completed by our children this half term! The creativity, effort and pride that has gone into each piece of work has been wonderful to see.
It’s clear just how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been about their learning, and they have loved sharing what they have created with their classes. We are so proud of the way they have embraced their projects and taken real ownership of their learning.
Here is a selection of photos from across the school showcasing some of their brilliant work, well done everyone! 👏📚✨
We can’t wait to see what comes in next week! Each half term, a new project theme will be released for the children to explore, and we are really looking forward to seeing where their curiosity and creativity take them next.

Our Year 6 pupils had a wonderful and eye‑opening visit to the local Hygiene Bank today. They learned about the vital work the organisation does to support families in our community and saw firsthand how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. We would like to send a huge thank‑you to all parents and carers for your generous donations, your support ensured the children arrived with a fantastic collection of items that will directly help those in need. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing the school so thoughtfully and for their enthusiasm in giving back to others.
