After a busy week of booking spaces, a little reminder that the 2023/24 sessions are open now and filling up fast. If you would like to book a space for a September start please don’t delay. Spaces will be booked up come September.

Lots of maths GCSE work during tonight's tutoring session. Using an interactive programme allows students to go back to the work they have completed during tutoring sessions for revision. It also allows them to finish sessions independently, whilst allowing me to look at what they have completed and provide feedback. We love online sessions!

I’ve been really pleased to get back to tutoring sessions this week after a little break at Christmas.

Recently, I have been asked about how virtual tutoring sessions work. Delivering tutoring sessions virtually is just as interactive as in person. I use a programme, which allows students to interact with each carefully planned activity. Here are a few slides we’ve been looking at recently, whilst learning the foundations of algebra. Each session uses representations to expose the key mathematical concept, to improve conceptual and sustained understanding.

In these examples, the student had to match the image with the correct alegebra notation. Followed by matching cards with the correct mathematical operation.
