A Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) is a review carried out by a local authority in the UK to check whether there are enough suitable childcare places available for families in the area.
The local authority are currently undertaking their CSA and would appreciate if families can complete the questionnaire attached to the QR code.

It usually looks at things such as:

* πŸ‘Ά How many childcare places are available β€” nurseries, childminders, pre-schools, breakfast/after-school clubs, holiday schemes, etc.
* πŸ“ Where the childcare is located and whether some areas have shortages.
* πŸ’· Cost and affordability of childcare.
* πŸ• Whether childcare is available at the times parents need it, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and school holidays.
* β™Ώ Whether there are suitable places for children with additional needs or disabilities.
* πŸ“ˆ Whether there is likely to be enough childcare in the future, based on population and demand.
* πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ What parents and carers say they need.

With the summer holidays continuing and the weather on our side.
We wanted to share water safety information with you.

Water safety is important for children because water can become dangerous very quickly, even in shallow depths. Teaching children how to stay safe around water helps prevent accidents and can save lives.

Some key reasons include:

* Prevents drowning: Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental injury-related death in young children. It can happen silently and in just a few centimeters (inches) of water.
* Builds safe habits: Children learn important rules, such as never swimming alone, always asking permission before going near water, and avoiding running around pools.
* Encourages supervision: Water safety emphasizes that children should always be watched closely by a responsible adult, even if they know how to swim.
* Develops swimming skills: Learning to swim and float can reduce the risk of drowning and help children feel more confident in the water.
* Prepares children for emergencies: Older children can learn what to do if someone is in trouble, such as calling for help instead of jumping into the water themselves.
* Promotes confidence with caution: Water activities are fun and healthy, but understanding risks helps children enjoy them safely.

Sports day success

Not your typical sports day for our Flying Start and Nursery children today.

Inclusive and child-centred.

Sports Day is important for early years because it focuses on having fun, building confidence, and developing skills, rather than competition. At this age, children learn best through play and active experiences.

It was lovely to see so many families.
Supporting the children as this helps children to strengthen relationships with families .

When parents and carers join in or cheer children on, it helps build secure relationships and creates positive memories of learning together.

🍏 🍎 🍏Patterns and printing. 🍎 🍏 🍎
As we continue our Very Hungry Caterpillar theme this week we have been looking at patterns and printing.

Importance of Making Patterns

* Develops early mathematical thinking by helping children notice and predict sequences.
* Improves problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Encourages concentration and attention.
* Supports language development as children describe colours, shapes, and patterns.
* Builds confidence when children successfully continue or create simple patterns.

Importance of Vegetable Printing

* Strengthens fine motor skills through gripping and stamping vegetables.
* Encourages creativity and self-expression.
* Introduces children to different textures, shapes, and colours.
* Supports sensory exploration.
* Helps develop hand-eye coordination.
* Provides opportunities to learn about healthy foods and where vegetables come from.
