Did you know that hyenas experience one of the most painful and difficult births of any animal? Female hyenas have a unique reproductive anatomy—what appears to be a p***s is actually an elongated cl****is, known as a pseudo-p***s. Their l***a are fused, forming what looks like a sc***um.

When giving birth, the cub must pass through this narrow and elongated pseudo-p***s, which often ruptures in the process. The birth canal is so tight that many first-time mothers do not survive labor, and a significant number of cubs suffocate before they can be born.

Mating is also complicated due to this unusual anatomy. The male must carefully navigate the female’s pseudo-p***s to achieve successful copulation. This, combined with the hyena’s matriarchal social structure, makes their reproductive process one of the most fascinating yet challenging in the animal kingdom.

The oldest functioning astronomical clock in the world is the Prague Astronomical Clock, also known as the Prague Orloj. Located on the southern wall of the Old Town Hall in Prague, Czech Republic, it has captivated visitors for over six centuries with its intricate mechanics and stunning craftsmanship.

🕰️ A Medieval Marvel: Origins and Function
Installed in 1410, the Prague Orloj was the work of Mikuláš of Kadaň, a clockmaker, and Jan Šindel, a professor of mathematics and astronomy at Charles University. It is composed of three main parts:

The Astronomical Dial – Shows the position of the Sun and Moon, zodiacal ring, and Old Bohemian time.

The Walk of the Apostles – A clockwork show featuring figures of the Twelve Apostles that move every hour.

The Calendar Dial – Added later in the 15th century, displaying months, signs of the zodiac, and local feast days.

This blend of science, timekeeping, and art made the Orloj not only a technological feat of the medieval world but a cultural treasure.

⚔️ Damage During World War II
During the Prague Uprising in May 1945, near the end of World War II, the Old Town Hall and the Orloj suffered significant damage. As German forces retreated, they set fire to the building, and the flames nearly destroyed the entire clock mechanism and calendar dial.

Wooden sculptures were burned.

Metal components were twisted and damaged.

The calendar plate, painted by Josef Mánes in the 19th century, was destroyed.

After the war, Czech craftsmen and historians undertook painstaking restoration efforts, and by 1948, the clock was fully repaired and operational again. This post-war revival became a symbol of Czech resilience and cultural pride.

Mount Everest’s highest point, now at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet) above sea level, was once part of the seafloor of the ancient Tethys Ocean. Millions of years ago, during the Mesozoic era, the region that is now the Himalayas was underwater, covered by this ocean. Sedimentary rocks, including limestone and marine fossils, found near Everest’s summit provide evidence of its oceanic origins.

Scientists suggests around 50-60 million years ago, the Indian tectonic plate collided with the Eurasian plate, causing the Tethys Ocean to close and the seafloor to buckle and fold, forming the Himalayan mountain range. This tectonic uplift pushed the former seafloor to extreme heights, creating Everest’s peak. Fossils of marine creatures like trilobites and ammonites have been found in the rocks near the summit, confirming its ancient underwater past.

The Man Who Lived 82 Years Without Ever Seeing a Woman — A Life Like No Other

Imagine spending your entire life without ever laying eyes on a woman. That was the extraordinary reality of Mihailo Tolotos, a Greek Orthodox monk who lived 82 years in complete isolation from half of humanity.

Born around 1856, Tolotos lost his mother just hours after his birth. Orphaned, he was taken in by monks at Mount Athos — a remote monastic community in Greece where women (and even female animals) have been banned since 1060.

Tolotos never set foot beyond the monastery walls. He never saw a woman, never witnessed a car, an airplane, or any of the modern inventions that transformed the outside world. His days were devoted to prayer, silence, and the strict discipline of monastic life.

When he passed away in 1938, the monks honored him with a special funeral, believing he was the only man to ever live and die without glimpsing a woman. His story remains one of the most remarkable examples of a life untouched by the world beyond.
