What a wonderful day it has been welcoming our children back to school!

The school has been full of smiles, excitement, laughter and plenty of Meva Magic from the moment the doors opened this morning. It has been fantastic to see familiar faces returning and to welcome those who are joining our school community for the first time.

We are incredibly excited for the year ahead and all of the experiences and achievements it will bring.

Most importantly, we are looking forward to working alongside our wonderful families and wider community once again to support our children as they learn and thrive.

As part of the MAC’s 20th Anniversary Open Day, there will be loads happening throughout the day, with fundraising in aid of Mevagissey School’s Outdoor Project! 🌿🌳

The TEP Awards rank primary and secondary schools across England based on pupil experience and wellbeing. We are delighted to share the results of our latest pupil surveys.

Mevagissey Community Primary School achieved:

• Pupil Inclusion – Top 5% of Primary Schools
• Pupil Enjoyment – Top 5% of Primary Schools
• Pupil Effort – Top 5% of Primary Schools
• Pupil Recommendation – Top 5% of Primary Schools

These awards reflect the positive experiences our children have at school and the strong sense of community that makes Mevagissey such a special place to learn.

We are always looking for ways to make school even better for our children. In our most recent survey, some pupils told us that the classroom chairs could be uncomfortable. We listened to their feedback and have now purchased new seat cushions for our classrooms.

You asked, we listened!

Our final performance of Wonderland was our best yet!

A huge well done to Year 6 for working together as a team and putting on such a fantastic show. The confidence and teamwork on display were incredible to see. Thank you also to our year 5’s for supporting with scene changes, singing and great dance moves.

Meva Magic was bouncing around everywhere on that stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of you all.

It is always an honour to be asked to sing with Mevagissey Ladies Choir during feast week. It gives the children the taste of performing on a professional stage in front of a real audience. The children had an amazing time and once again our amazing community turned out in force.
