📚 World book day 📚

Our Reception class loved dressing up today.

They each shared their favourite book from home. The children were lucky enough to have some parents come to read to them in the morning too.

They also how to solve a mystery, someone had taken some books! We read the clues to eliminate the suspects and found out that the Gruffalo had taken them! The children then wrote descriptive sentences about the Gruffalo on ‘Wanted‘ posters.

🌐✨ Safer Internet Day 2026 ✨🌐

This week we celebrated Online Safety Day across the school, exploring this year’s theme:

“Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.”
Pupils learnt how to use AI safely, think before they click, keep personal information private, and make positive choices online. We are so proud of how thoughtfully they engaged with the day — especially during our whole-school Online Safety Song! 🎶

Let’s continue working together to help our children use smart technology safely and responsibly every day.

Today saw the first ever Northern Primary Regional Mathematics competition held at Broughton.

A team of four Year 5 children had to work together in different rounds to solve puzzles, crosswords and word problems.

We are very proud to announce that we came first.

A quote from Mrs. A:
"I’m so pleased with how the children worked together patiently to tackle the problems in a logical way."

A well done goes to Lily, Kaima, Ire, and Selim who did a fantastic job together.

We certainly 'unlocked our potential' today!

Huge congratulations to our hockey team this week.

They won the tournament we attended at UCLAN and were unbeaten throughout! Even braving the weather!
