What a fantastic night we had celebrating our Leavers’ Disco!

June has been filled with wonderful memories and special moments! We’ve enjoyed pony visits, raised money for Children in Need, had exciting water fights, steel drums, ice lollies, sports, made the most of OPAL and got creative with junkyard modelling—just to name a few. It’s been a fantastic month full of fun, learning and memorable experiences.

Well done Year 1 for raising over £100 today for Children in Need! We are so proud of you! 🍰🧁

What a brilliant evening we’ve had with our children representing the school at the South Peaks Competition! They showcased their talents, resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the event and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

A huge thank you to all the parents who came along to support and cheer on the children!

A special well done to our Year 6 children. Many of them have taken part in this event year after year and it was an emotional moment to realise that this was their final South Peaks Competition before moving on to secondary school.

We would also like to recognise our younger competitors, many of whom not only competed in their own age groups but also rose to the challenge of competing against older children. Their confidence, courage and commitment were truly impressive.

Well done to every child who took part, you were fantastic ambassadors for our school, and we are incredibly proud of you all! 🎉👏🏆

There aren’t many photos from our incredible steel drum workshop earlier this week and that’s because everyone was completely immersed in the experience! 🎶🥁

Every single child got involved, embraced the challenge and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was fantastic to see such confidence, teamwork and joy on display.

We have been on a journey since introducing and embedding OPAL at St Joseph’s. We are thrilled to share that following our final audit on Monday we have achieved a Gold rating! 💛💛💛💛

Our mentor was absolutely delighted with the progress we’ve made and our strong commitment to the importance of play for our children.

🥰A heartfelt thank you to all our parents for your incredible support—whether through generous donations of loose parts, giving children money for tuck shops or ice lollies or volunteering your time and resources to help develop our outdoor spaces. Your contribution has been truly invaluable.

🪏We are also so grateful to our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly both during and beyond school hours to enhance play opportunities at lunchtime. A special mention must go to Mr Lomas and Miss Lemon for their outstanding effort, spending countless hours building, transforming spaces and showing exceptional commitment.

🩷Finally, to our pupils, your enthusiasm and appreciation are at the heart of everything we do and we are so proud of what has been achieved.

What a fantastic first day back with ! 📚✨

Children, staff and families were all delighted with their new books—such a joy to see so much excitement around reading. A huge thank you for visiting our school and an extra special thanks to our wonderful parents for supporting the book fair. Thanks to your generosity, we were gifted an amazing selection of new books for the children to enjoy!
