School Car Park and Crossing Update

We are pleased to share an update regarding the school crossing and car park arrangements.

Following recent meetings with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, it has been agreed that a School Crossing Patrol person will be employed to support the safe crossing of pupils and families between the carpark and school.

Once this position has been successfully filled, we will be able to open the school car park. Our current aim is for this to happen in October this year, subject to the successful recruitment of a crossing patrol officer.

Lincolnshire County Council will be advertising the vacancy from 7th September, with a closing date of 27th September. If you, or someone you know, may be interested in this important role within our community, please keep an eye out for the advertisement after 7th September.

Paper application forms will also be available from the school reception area.

Please note that the successful applicant will be employed by Lincolnshire County Council, not by the school.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and support while we work towards opening the car park and improving safety for all members of our school community.

We have some fantastic academic attainment news to share.

We have just received our Key Stage Two SATS results which I think has capped off the school's best year of academic attainment ever!

This year, 88% of our Reception aged children achieved a Good Level of Development, which is significantly above the national average of 72% 😀 This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work, curiosity and determination of our amazing children, alongside the dedication of our staff and the support from families at home.

Our Year One pupils absolutely smashed their phonics screening checks with 93% of them achieving the pass threshold. This sets them up expertly for their reading and writing journey throughout the rest of school. Well done Year Ones and thank you to parents for their ongoing support with phonics at home. 🌟

Key Stage Two SATS are up 10% on last year with 86% of pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined. Individually by subject, this was 93% Reading, 93% Maths and 86% Writing. Another monumental achievement is that 65% of pupils in Year Six achieved the greater depth standard in Reading 😮
Well done Year Six for your amazing efforts in SATS week and for attending the boosting sessions. Mr Cooke and Mrs Airey are rightfully thrilled and very proud.

So thank you to everyone in our school: our sensational pupils, highly dedicated staff and supportive parent community. We didn't rest up after Ofsted and know that we can continue to offer all children a great education.

Well done everyone! 👏

***Updated***

Thank you to everyone who purchased the ice pops and lemonade on the last day of term you raised £149, which is a total of £222 today with the non uniform day. This has already been donated to the Child Brian Injury Trust.

Thank you to Anna, Izzie and William for your hard work with the stall this afternoon.

Good afternoon,

Friday looks to be an incredibly warm day so suncream will be necessary!

As you will be aware, Izzie Blythe in Year Five suffers from a rare medical condition called AVM. The children in school are very supportive of Izzie. The school would like to support the charity that has helped Izzie and her family (as well as many other children and parents).

The charity is called Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT). The Child Brain Injury Trust is the UK's premier charity dedicated to childhood-acquired brain injury support. For over 30 years, they have been the trusted voice providing comprehensive resources and advocacy for families navigating paediatric brain injury recovery. By age 17, 1 in 30 children will have experienced a childhood-acquired brain injury. When this life-changing event affects your family, you shouldn't have to face the journey alone.

This is an incredible charity to support and this week is Action for Brain Injury Week.

On Friday, Izzie and her mum (plus a couple of friends) will be selling ice lollies/ice pops from 3pm (it's a very warm day) on the school playground. These can be bought for cash with all proceeds going to Child Brain Injury Trust.

Additionally, the colour of the charity is purple. If any pupils would like to wear something purple/or close to purple to school for the day for a £1.00 cash donation then they can. As it is a warm day, this could be socks, a t shirt, shorts, a wristband, a hair bobble, a cap or anything else you can think of.

This is a great cause for our school to support. If any family would like to make donations of ice pops or even ice lollies, then these would be very gratefully received by the school and Izzie and her family.

Thank you for your support with this.

As we reach the end of SATs Week, we just want to take a moment to say how incredibly proud we are of all our amazing Year 6 pupils. 🌟

This week has been a true reflection of their resilience, determination and positive attitude. They have shown up each day with focus, courage and a willingness to try their very best — and that’s all we could ever ask for.

SATs are just a small snapshot of their journey, but the confidence, perseverance and growth they’ve demonstrated speak volumes about the incredible young people they are becoming.

Well done, Year 6! You’ve handled this challenge with maturity and strength, and we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you. Now it’s time to celebrate your hard work and enjoy the rest of your final term together! 🎉👏

⚽️ Exciting Partnership News! ⚽️

This academic year, we were incredibly proud to partner with Lincoln City Football Club as part of their attendance programme.

Throughout the year, our children have had some fantastic opportunities – including attending matches and experiencing the excitement of live football together. We were also generously gifted a signed football shirt, which was a truly special surprise for our school community! 👕⚽️

One of the highlights of our partnership was a player assembly held on 23rd of April. We had the absolute privilege of welcoming Connor McGrandles, who spoke to our pupils about dedication, resilience, teamwork and the importance of commitment – both on and off the pitch. The children were inspired by his visit and asked some fantastic questions.

It has taken us a short while to share this wonderful news, as we were kindly asked to keep the assembly off social media until the end of the football season. We’re now delighted to celebrate that Connor went on to receive the Players’ Player Award – a fantastic and well-deserved achievement! 🏆

A huge thank you to Lincoln City Football Club for supporting our school and creating such memorable experiences for our pupils. We look forward to continuing to build on this special partnership in the future! ❤️⚽️
