๐ Exciting News Everyone! ๐
Last night, the Under 5s Committee voted unanimously to formally close the current Under 5s nursery and become part of Marlborough St Maryโs School.
This is a hugely exciting step forward and means that, from September, our nursery children will begin learning in two specially adapted classrooms within the main school building. Mrs Crossman and Mrs Palmer are already enthusiastically exploring fantastic new furniture and resources to create a beautiful learning environment, fully aligned with our Hygge-inspired Early Years philosophy. ๐ฟโจ
Over time, you may also begin to see designers, architects, engineers and builders visiting the current Under 5s site as plans develop to transform the building into a state-of-the-art nursery and family centre, ready for September 2027.
We know that periods of change can feel emotional for staff and families alike, and we would like to thank the Under 5s team for their care and commitment to the children over the years. We are really looking forward to welcoming and working alongside our new nursery colleagues as one team as we begin this exciting new chapter together. ๐
What an exciting future ahead for our youngest children!

๐ A Wonderful Book Donation! ๐
We were delighted to receive a generous donation of beautiful books from The White Horse Book Shop, delivered by Amanda Pilgrim, who leads the LitFest outreach to schools.
These books were part of the LitFest High Street Book Hunt, where children searched for them in shop windows around town โ a fantastic community activity that many of our pupils loved!
A huge thank you to Amanda and the LitFest team for thinking of our school. Weโre excited to add these books to our collection and know theyโll be very well loved.
๐ Exciting news at Marlborough St Maryโs! ๐
Many of you may have spotted in the local media that our headteacher, Dan Crossman, is heading to London this weekend for the national Headteacher of the Year finals. Itโs now been officially announced that Dan has been awarded a Silver Award ๐ฅ, with the Gold going to a very deserving headteacher, James Parkinson from Yorkshire.
This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the hard work, care and commitment Dan brings to our school every day โ and heโs asked us to pass on his huge thanks to the parents, staff and governors who nominated him ๐.
Itโs been a fantastic year for the whole school community, with Marlborough St Maryโs picking up several national awards ๐ โ including the big one, Primary School of the Year ๐. Dan and a small group of staff have travelled to London this weekend to proudly represent the school and celebrate everything the community has achieved together ๐.
Donโt worry โ theyโve promised to behave themselves ๐ and will all be back on Monday morning bright-eyed and ready to go! ๐
Weโre incredibly proud of our school and everyone in it. ๐
