Bringhurst Primary PTA

Bringhurst Primary PTA The Pta support Bringhurst Primary School which is a happy, friendly school, set in beautiful rural Leicestershire.

Bringhurst Primary PTA (Parent Teachers Association) is a fun, friendly group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to raise funds for the school to help enrich the learning journey for the pupils at Bringhurst Primary School. Our school is perched on a hill between the villages of Bringhurst and Great Easton, with glorious views of the Welland Valley from our spacious grounds. We tr

y through various events in the year, to raise money for the school. The school is proud of its reputation as a family friendly school. Our families and local community are an integral part of our school and play an active role in the day to day successes of the school. Bringhurst Primary has places for up to 165 pupils aged 4 to 11 years. We have seven age appropriate classes which are successfully managed by our very experienced teachers, and all of our classes are supported by an excellent team of Learning Support Assistants. We offer a range of after school and lunchtime activities with a view to meeting the interests of all our children. We are particularly proud of the opportunities for physical exercise offered by the school – these exceed Government expectations and our children regularly receive praise for their sportsmanship and success on the field. Last year we were Rutland champions of Basketball, Girls Cross Country and Gymnastics.

With the PTA AGM just around the corner, it seems like an opportune time to report on the key highlights of the last year in terms of the events that helped raised extra funds, and the reinvestment that has been realised by the school.

It is incredibly rewarding to be part of the PTA, and the wider help and support from the school community is always very much welcome. Thank you

Dear Parents,

This year voting for the new committee will be done by ballot at the AGM. So if you would like to vote please attend the meeting on Tuesday, the 1st of October at 6 pm at Bringhurst primary school you are all welcome. We had hoped to provide an online voting system for those of you that can’t attend the AGM but, as per our charity Constitution, we are advised that voting should be done at the AGM so we are following these guidelines.

Furthermore, we are advised by the constitution that all nominations should be seconded and in writing to the chair prior to the AGM. As we still have one more week to go, nominations are still open, forms can be found outside the office at Bringhurst primary School or you can drop me an email with the person being nominated and the person seconding the nomination. My email is [email protected].

The AGM is open to any member of the PTA that is a parent or teacher of Bringhurst primary school and who wants to be involved with PTA.

There will also be an opportunity at the end of the AGM to put forward any ideas for fundraising that you may have.

We have lots of exciting fundraising events already planned for this term including:-
‘Bend the Rules’ next Friday 27th September, where children may bend a few rules but will be fined 50p for each rule bent!
Childrens Autumn disco on Thurs 17th October just before we break for half term. Sessions will be split into KS1 and KS2
A not to be missed Christmas crafting evening on 28th November in Lyddington Village Hall, where you will be able to watch demonstrations of Christmas themed crafts and goodies with options to purchase them afterwards. Should be a fun night with mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets will be on sale in October.
On December 7th we have a Joules clothing sale which is an exclusive ticket event to allow you to peruse heavily discounted Joules items. Perfect for your Christmas outfits and Christmas presents.
Finally our Christmas fair, after school on Friday 13th December. Full of games and goodies and lots of festive cheer.

Many thanks and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the AGM.

With the PTA AGM getting closer I would like to clarify PTA Committee Job Roles and Responsibilities.

Chairperson: The chairperson serves as the leader of the PTA, ensuring that its business is conducted correctly and upholding the PTA Constitution. They provide leadership, preside over meetings, and oversee the organization's activities.

Secretary: The secretary ensures the smooth functioning of the PTA by handling correspondence, arranging meetings, and maintaining records. They serve as a link between the PTA, school, and wider community, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the PTA, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing fundraising activities. They play a crucial role in budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Nominations please by 20/9/24 to myself.
Forms outside the school office or contact [email protected].
Formal list of nominated candidates and current committee offering to restand will then be announced 23/9/24 and details of how to vote. This is likely to be via an anonymous online voting platform. Only parents of Bringhurst pupils and teachers may vote.

AGM Tuesday 1st October 6pm in the school hall. Agenda will be set nearer the time but will include Chairs report, Treasurers report, formation of new committee plus ideas for the forthcoming year. All welcome to attend, but please let us know if you are coming so we have an idea of numbers.

We would also like to have champions for publicity and event management. If you have a skill set specific to these areas and would like to support the PTA please let me know. Furthermore if you would just like to be an Active member and offer help when you can we would love to add you to our list.

If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Many thanks

With the PTA AGM just a month away I wanted to clarify how a new committee will be formed for the next academic year.

The current PTA committee have to stand down at the AGM and then they can either stand for re election or resign. Other parents may put themselves forward for nomination for a position. Then, if there is more than one candidate nominated for a position, including current committee offering to restand, the election will go to vote by parents and teachers of Bringhurst Primary School.

This year Lucy Allen (co Chair) will be resigning as she no longer has a child at Bringhurst School. The rest of the committee, Jane Kendrick (secretary), Dionne McDermott (treasurer) and myself (Chair) are all happy to restand. Should anyone else like to be considered for a committee role we would be delighted to receive nominations. The current committee continue to act until the AGM. (1st October)

We would also like to find ambassadors for social media campaigning, events organiser and marketing coordinator. If you have any expertise in these areas and would like to help please contact us.

Please feel free to private message me if you have any questions.

Many thanks

Amanda

We hope you’ve all had a super summer holiday and enjoy the last week before term starts when we welcome our new children into reception at Bringhurst Primary.

We have lots of exciting events planned for the new Autumn term and would like to share dates with you so you can pop them in your diaries / on your calendars.

We kick off by welcoming our new parents for refreshments for an informal meet and greet in the school hall after drop off on Thurs 5th September. Please pop in we’d love to see you.

Friday 27th September Bend the Rules day - children are allowed to break the rules on this day (within reason!) odd socks, coloured hair, juice in their water bottle! But it comes with a fine !

Tues 1st October PTA AGM evening - reports from previous year, election of new committee, plans for forthcoming year etc If you’d like to be involved with the PTA this is a great place to start.

Thurs 17th October Autumn disco (in the school hall)

Thurs 28th November Christmas craft evening (Lyddington VH, lots of crafting ideas with mulled wine / mince pie refreshments)

Saturday 7th December Joules sale (come and grab some bargains perfect timing for pressie buying)

Friday 13th Dec Christmas Fayre after school.

Details will be published nearer to the events but please ‘save the dates’
We are always looking for volunteers to help with these events so please let us know if you’d like to be involved.

We would also like to appoint ambassadors for Events organising, Marketing and campaigning and a Social media facilitating. If you have a skill set in any of these areas and would like to put yourself forward or just have a chat about what’s involved (and it can be as little or as much as you can offer) we’d be very grateful. It helps lessen the workload for the committee and puts together a strong fundraising team.

Many thanks to you all and look forward to seeing you soon.
