Shirebrook Academy

We have received the very tragic news that Stan Matthews, a prominent and deeply respected member of our community has sadly passed away. Stan Matthews leaves a legacy in many areas and notably as a dedicated volunteer and supporter of Shirebrook Miners Welfare and Shirebrook Rangers FC. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who knew him. His commitment to grassroots football, his community spirit and support of so many people will not be forgotten.

We are incredibly proud of all of our young people that have collected or received their examination results today. Many young people and their families chose to collect their results in person, and it was wonderful being able to speak to them about their achievements and plans moving forwards.

We wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing them again at the GCSE Certificate Presentation Event in November.

We hope you are all having a fantastic summer, there is still plenty of it left to enjoy! Just a date for the diary for when it is time to return to the Academy.

We are looking forward to celebrating our Year 11's tomorrow! The wait is almost over!
