There are many reasons why we can become tired and even suffer from chronic fatigue.
In Traditional Chinese medicine this is simply an imbalance between the Yin and Yang. Yin being that energy that moves down into a stillness, the one that make us to go to sleep, and Yang that energy that moves upwards and make us to wake up and be active.
In this 4 weeks course we’ll give tools that women can take away and restore that balance and energy through Qigong.
This will involve movement, breath work, Tuina (self-massage in Chinese), acupressure points and mudras.

** next Wednesday 5th of February
The New Year in the Chinese calendar signals the start of spring. Days get longer, and we start moving away from the dormant winter. Things start to shaken up.
Next Wednesday Spring Begins and we are starting weekly Qigong classes The Yoga Rooms in Chorlton. These will be an opportunity for attendants to connect with the seasons and the cycles of life. Qigong is not exercise. It’s a holistic health practice that helps us to harmonise with ourselves and our environment so we keep illness at bay and can heal ourselves. And it’s done though movement, breath work, self-massage, working with acupressure points, mudras and meditation.
There will be 2 classes :
> One for Over 50’s ( though not exclusively )
10-30am-11.30am
> Another for Women’s Health
4.30pm-5.20pm
Both starting on Wednesday 5th of February
In each we’ll learn practices to take home so we know how to use accordingly to our needs.
Send us a message if interested & feel free to share this post to friends & family
We hope to see some new faces joining in

After a break of teaching Qigong, because retraining again, I’ll be starting teaching again this February.
If interested let me know soon. I’m recruiting a small but committed group to run a beginners course via zoom on :
> Tuesdays 4pm-5pm **UK time ;
3pm-4pm **EST ; 12pm-1pm **PST
> Thursdays 10am-11am **UK time
7pm-8pm **Melbourne
Before I start, I would need all attendants to fill in a registration form with few health questions.
Prices will be £7/£5 or £3 for those who need it and can’t afford the full price.
Qigong is a well-being and healing practice based in Chinese Medicine and its aim is to learn how to manage our energy and nourish ourselves. We perform movements synchronised to our breath to balance our body and mind and, if complemented with an appropriate life style, it can heal the one hundred sicknesses.
If interested send me an email with any questions or to request the registration form.
I hope you feel like taking time to nourish yourself

Dear Qigong students
I don’t think it’s good to raise the alarm about the Corona Virus BUT it is definitely worth taking precautions. Not so much for those with a strong Qi or good immune system but to protect those that are in the high risk category: people with a weak immune system, people that suffer from asthma, pregnant women or those suffering with long term illness.
So, please, obey the following instructions:
1 - If you are coughing or suffering of cold, flu or fever, please, do not attend our Qigong sessions
2 - if you are in the high risk spectrum, please, don’t come either.
3 - Please, wash your hands before starting the class in our facilities
4 - Please, bring a handkerchief or paper tissue so you can use in case you sneeze
5- We won’t use mats, blankets or bolsters at the moment
Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation. Any questions, please, do ask.
Regards

If any of you are interested in knowing the Philosophy behind Qigong, this Thursday and next Monday will be a good time for you to join our Qigong Manchester group.
Though these session are purely practical, this Thursday and next Monday, I’ll be explaining in a nutshell the theory of Yin and Yang and how these translate into our bodies and health. We'll then apply this theory to practice the movements of the Shibashi form that we are learning at the moment.
Here a link of the Shibashi form, so you can have a look : https://youtu.be/NOENwWg3e2M
I hope you like it and, if so, to meet you whenever suits you to attend.

Winter is the darkest and the coldest of the seasons, reasons why, for some people, its difficult to go through. In Taoism Phylosophy, in which Qigong is based, winter is associated with the water element, an energetic quality that, as water, goes downwards. This is seen in nature particularly in this time of the year. Just to put an example, the sap of the trees move towards the roots, a reason why, if anual, the leafs fall down. There are no much post natal energy available in nature over winter, no much sun, and no much food available for animals in their territory, a reason why some hibernate by going to sleep for the duration of this season where everything seems it goes almost into stillness.
Many people, and perhaps because our societies do not allow it, can’t tune into this water element energy and do not accept that our natural rhythms also need to slow down, more sleep and restfulness. The water element is the most yin of the 5 energies identifies in the Taoist philosophy: wood, fire, earth, metal and water and it is at the antipodes of the most yang of them, the fire element, associated with the summer, heat and its rising energy. If the energy of the sun predominates in summer, in winter is the energy of the moon.
Now .. when we tune into this natural rhythm, we feel healthier and balanced. Some people find it difficult just to stop and suffer problems related with a water element unbalance. That might be issues with the kidneys and the bladder, the two organs associated with the water element in our bodies. Or stress due to the overuse of adrenaline hormones that should be used occasionally when we might REALLY need it. Otherwise our kidneys love quietness and calmness.
Come along. The health benefits of the relaxation, we specially need in this time of the year, are enormous. The Water Element Qigong will be good for combating exhaustion and fatigue, and also knee and lower back pain, feeling cold, hearing issues, weak bones, loose teeth, and infertility matters. In an emotional level will help us to heal any fears and to attain and maintain a state of peace, calm and quite.
If you can make it, I see you there
