A man once memorised the Qur’an for 12 hours a day.

Then he lost his voice.
He forgot everything he’d memorised.
15 years passed.

And then…

He recited the ENTIRE Qur’an in one sitting — from memory — with no mistakes.

This is Muhammad's comeback story. And it’s unforgettable.

Eid Mubārak to you all.

Even after Ramadan, keep going, even if slowly. Small deeds. Sincere hearts. Consistent steps. May Allah make your path full of light, ease, and acceptance.

I want to share something that has immense benefit.

It's not about a new memorisation technique or a clever revision schedule—it's about something much deeper.

I recently came across the story of Issa Yahya, a Qur'an teacher and Hāfiz who experienced a complete transformation in his life and Hifz journey through two simple but powerful practices.

What follows isn't just his story—it's a wake-up call for everyone who feels stuck, blocked, or unable to progress despite their best efforts. And in Ramadān—when the gates of forgiveness are wide open—there couldn't be a better time to implement this practice!

Can you imagine starting your journey to memorise the Qur'ān when you reached the age of 80? Probably not.

Why would you leave it that later in life? Why would you take on such a task when you can't learn things like you used to? When you truly love the Qur'ān and have a relationship of love with the Qur'ān - age and time is just a number.

There's one such a man, he finished at the age of 100!!

What’s stopping you from starting today? Share in the comments — your words might inspire someone else.

"They Told Her It Was Impossible at Her Age"

The Story of Hajja Samia, Who Memorized the Entire Qur’an at 60

With unwavering determination, a woman in her sixties defied expectations and became a shining example of perseverance, proving that age is never a barrier to fulfilling one's dreams. Hajja Samia Faris Fayid memorized the entire Qur’an in just two years, earning first place in a Qur’an competition in her village. Her story is one of patience, resilience, and deep faith, driven by the conviction that the Qur’an is the best companion in both this life and the Hereafter.

---

A Dream That Took 30 Years to Fulfill

More than 30 years ago, on a blessed night in Ramadan, Samia sat alone in her room, her eyes filled with tears as she raised her hands in supplication. She pleaded with Allah to grant her the ability to memorize His Book.

She tried on her own, struggling to read correctly, but found it incredibly difficult. Yet, she never stopped making du’a. She kept calling upon Allah until, at the age of 68, He finally opened the door for her to embark on her journey of Qur’an memorization.

In just two years, on the brink of turning 60, she completed her Hifz.

"The Qur’an Became My Companion in Life and My Intercessor on the Day of Judgment"

Hajja Samia was born in Ain Shams, Cairo, and later moved to her husband's hometown in Bisha 'Amer, Sharqia Governorate. She devoted her life to raising her four children—a son and three daughters. Once they completed their education and got married, she felt it was time to pursue her lifelong dream: memorizing the Qur’an.

Her greatest supporter was her husband, Engineer Fahmi Al-Tuhami, who encouraged her every step of the way. Their marriage, built on love and mutual respect, became even stronger as he stood by her in her quest to become a Hafiza.

"They Told Me I Was Too Old"—The Moment That Changed Everything

Samia’s decision to start Hifz was met with skepticism. When she approached a Qur’an teacher for guidance, he told her outright: “It will be too difficult for you at your age.”

Rather than discouraging her, this remark ignited a fire within her. She became determined to prove that memorizing the Qur’an has no age limit.

She continued making du’a until, one day, a Qur’an school opened near her home. Without hesitation, she joined. However, she soon realized that she was memorizing alongside young children, some as young as 10 years old. She didn’t let this faze her. With dedication, she memorized a few ajzā’ under her teacher’s guidance.

Her story reached a young woman in her neighborhood,, who was so inspired by Samia’s determination that she began teaching her—for free. With her help, Samia completed her memorization at 60 years old.

Her Love for the Qur’an

Whenever she recites the Qur’an, tears stream down her face. To her, there is nothing more beautiful than the words of Allah. Now, she dedicates her time to teaching her grandchildren the Qur’an, ensuring that they too will carry the divine words in their hearts.

Her ultimate dream?
To complete a full recitation of the Qur’an in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, during Ramadan.

The Power of a Supportive Husband

Her husband, Engineer Fahmi, describes her journey with immense pride. He recalls his mother’s heartfelt du’a for him: "May Allah bless you with a righteous wife."

For him, Allah answered this du’a in the most beautiful way. He considers his wife’s completion of the Qur’an to be one of the greatest joys of his life.

"The day she completed her Hifz felt like Eid in our home," he said. As he walks through the streets of their village, people congratulate him for being the husband of a Hafiza—a testament to how much the community respects and admires her achievement.

From Competition to Celebration
To put her memorization to the test, Samia entered a local Qur’an competition in her village. Competing with younger students, she demonstrated her exceptional memorization skills and won first place—despite having only memorized 20 Juz’ at the time.

Her son, overwhelmed with pride, said: "The whole house feels like we are celebrating a wedding! Everyone is congratulating us."

A Message to Every Mother

With tears in her eyes, Hajja Samia shares her advice to every woman: "Memorize even a few parts of the Qur’an. Be the first teacher for your children. The mother is the foundation of the home, and the Qur’an is the best protection and guide in life."

She dreams of opening a Qur’an school, where both young and elderly students can memorize the Qur’an for free. To her, the Qur’an is not just a book—it is the light of life.

A Story That Inspires Us All

Samia’s journey is proof that age is never an obstacle to achieving great things. With sincere intention, perseverance, and reliance on Allah, nothing is impossible.

May Allah bless Hajja Samia and allow her story to inspire generations to come. Ameen.
