We recently invested in ClassVR headsets, and they are already beginning to enhance the learning experience for our students in really exciting ways.

Some of our students have already had the opportunity to use them in a careers session last week, where our Year 7s explored pathways within the aerospace industry.

They were immersed in a truly unforgettable experience, from watching a rocket being built, to being part of a launch, and even finding themselves walking on the surface of Mars.

Beyond careers, ClassVR is opening up powerful opportunities across the curriculum. It allows students to step into historical moments, explore geographical landscapes from around the world, and bring learning to life in a way that goes far beyond the classroom.

This investment is helping to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and broaden horizons, supporting both academic progress and personal development through truly immersive learning.

Our Year 9 Scholars recently graduated from The Brilliant Club Scholars Programme at the University of Leeds.

Throughout the programme, students worked closely with a PhD tutor, exploring the history, science, impact, and future of vaccines before completing a 2,000 word university style essay.

We are incredibly proud that every student passed, with some achieving 1st Class grades.

Students also had the opportunity to experience university life first hand before taking part in a formal graduation ceremony, where two of our students confidently delivered speeches to the audience.

A fantastic start to learning from our Year 10 Hive students today, independently completing their Do Now tasks with focus and confidence.

Through consistent routines, tailored strategies, and high-quality teaching and learning, students are continuing to develop their confidence, independence, and engagement within lessons. It is brilliant to see the progress being made and the maturity students are showing each day.
We are really proud of the progress being made every single day, well done Year 10 Hive!

Well done to our Year 11 students who got up and out last Sunday for Higher Maths revision. We are so proud of the effort and commitment shown. Even better to see everyone enjoying their well deserved brownies as a reward!

Earlier this week, all Year 7 students took part in a drop down day, where every student attended a Stop the Bleed session delivered by Stop The Bleed UK.

Students were taught how to:
-Recognise life-threatening bleeding
-Apply direct pressure
-Use dressings and tourniquets safely

These are skills we hope our students will never have to use, but ones that could make a critical difference in an emergency.
An important and impactful experience for all involved.

Today, a group of our Year 10 students took advantage of the lovely weather at lunchtime, bringing along snacks and setting up their own picnic on the field ☀️

They were joined by Mrs Mitchell, who stopped by for a chat and to enjoy the sunshine with them!

Keeping phones out of the academy day helps students stay focused and lessons run as they should.

It creates a calmer atmosphere in all areas of the academy and supports positive behaviour throughout the day. It’s simple, but it works.
