Sports For Champions UK (CIC) is on a mission to EDUCATE–ENABLE–EMPOWER young people.
On Tuesday 12th July we have a visiting athlete coming into school and the children have received information about a sponsored challenge. The money raised by you will support unsponsored athletes, be used in school for additional sports resources and a small amount is reinvested into the Sports for Champions Project.

We hope the children have been busy getting sponsors. Our school’s Crowdfunder page is now live!

Well done to all of the children who entered the Easter Competition. We have some very creative children at Crumpsall Lane!
The School Council, alongside Mrs Williams, judged all of the entrants and after much deliberation, selcted the winners from each phase. All winners have won an easter egg. I wonder how many will share with their families?!

This is Azalfah . She is a year 6 pupil. She decided that before she started high school she wanted to dom something for others; she wanted to raise money for people who have been diagnosed with diabetes.
Her challenge is to swim the equivalent distance of the English Channel, from Dover to Calais which is 27 nautical miles.
We know that by taking part in this challenge, Alzalfah will demonstrate many of our school values, such as Ambition, Resilience and Nurture.

Headteacher's Award
This week, both Furqan and Ruba have worked extremely hard on their extended writing about The Bear and the Piano. Both children have used their writing targets using two adjectives to describe a noun.
We are really pleased with the progress they are making and how they are able to work independently.
Well done!

Since Yusha was 4 years old he has loved boxing, sharing the passion with his Dad. He joined Longsight Boxing Club when he was 8 years old and started his amateur boxing career when he turned 10 years old.
So far he has taken part in 6 skills fights (which means there is no winner or loser) and 2 competitive fights, both of which he has won.
Yusha exemplifies the school value of ambition as he is keen to compete in the National Schoolboys Championships next year and hopes to win the title. He is working towards a future goal where he wants to represent Great Britain in the Olympics.
We are very proud of your sporting achievement, Yusha and your focus and commitment to your sport! Well done!
