"ALAN TURING - THE MAN & HIS LEGACY" Neil Sheldon
The May Heritage Group Guest Speaker Night was another great success with an audience of nearly fifty people. Carol enthuses, "Neil Sheldon was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable held the audiences attention throughout. Alan Turing what a man! Leant a lot about what he actually achieved other than breaking the Enigma code."
The next Heritage Group Guest Speaker Night is Wednesday June 10th when Susan Kelly, and her dog Daisy, will give us an insight into "Her Life With Guide Dogs". This will be Wednesday June 10th at 7pm in the OH Conny Club. Adults £5 - under 14s FREE

ONCE IN A BLUE MOON.......
Jude did get some photos of the recent Blue Moon for us - with an explanation - "This is the rare Blue Moon that we were told to look out for. Except it isn’t blue. It is rare, though, as we had two full moons in one month, so this year we will have 13 full moons, instead of 12. Also, it is the furthest distance from Earth that it can be, and therefore looks smaller, and is very low in the sky.
There was a lot of cloud cover and I thought I’d missed it again. By the time it emerged briefly from the clouds it was already sliding down behind the trees, and I managed to catch it through a small gap. I know this is all very boring, and I do apologise, but I find it fascinating. I suppose that makes me a “lunatic”."

A message from Jude "Don’t forget there’s going to be a rare blue moon tonight, and hopefully a line-up of planets. Let’s have some photos!"

Pretoria Ruins Lecture Tour - Special!
We did a one-off Lecture Tour on the Pretoria Ruins this morning for the staff of Harrison's Estate Agents. What a pleasure it was to have these lovely people attend. We also had police officers Sgt Oliver Cooper and PC Chris Chadwick along - not because we were expecting trouble from Harrison's staff but because they were genuinely interested in the tour! Corrie Shelley was there to sing her beautiful Pretoria song, "Johnny". Thanks to all for making it such an enjoyable and successful morning.
