☕️💛 A special morning at Tiddlywinks Crumpsall! 💛☕️

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming our wonderful grandparents into nursery for our Coffee Morning & Stay and Play! 🥰

It was so lovely to see our grandparents spending precious time with their grandchildren, joining in with nursery life and sharing special moments together. From playing and exploring to enjoying a cuppa and a chat, it was a beautiful opportunity to bring our nursery and families together. 💕

We are so grateful for the time you spent with us and for the love, support and special role you play in our children’s lives.

Thank you for making our morning so special! 🌿✨

❤️🫀 National Heart Day in Pre-School 🫀❤️

On Tuesday, our Pre-School children celebrated National Heart Day with a very exciting hands-on investigation... exploring lambs' hearts! 🔍🫀

The children were encouraged to use their senses of sight, touch and smell to investigate the hearts and share what they noticed. We had some brilliant descriptions, including:

👃 "It's stinky!"
🦄 "It smells like unicorns!"
🙌 "It feels slimy!"

Armed with their magnifying glasses, the children took an even closer look as Rachel carefully opened the ventricles so they could see what the heart looked like on the inside. 🔎

Once our investigation was finished, we continued the learning by talking about our own hearts, where they are in our bodies and why we need them. The children then had a go at feeling their own pulses and their friends' pulses, noticing the steady beat of their hearts. ❤️

We absolutely love giving our children opportunities to learn through real-life, hands-on experiences. There were lots of questions, conversations and curious little minds at work! 🥰

🖤 COLOUR OF THE MONTH: BLACK 🖤

As we step into spooky season, we’ve been celebrating BLACK as our Colour of the Month! 🎃🕷️

At Tiddlywinks, our Colour of the Month is more than simply learning a colour. It’s about creating meaningful opportunities for children to explore, investigate and make connections across our curriculum. 🌟

Through play and everyday experiences, children have been developing their communication and language, creativity, understanding of the world, physical development and personal, social and emotional skills — all through the simple starting point of a colour! 🖤

We love seeing where children’s curiosity takes them and how one little idea can lead to so many wonderful learning opportunities.

And with spooky season officially here… BLACK was the perfect colour to celebrate! 👻🖤🎃

☕🌟 National Coffee Day at Tiddlywinks Blackley! 🌟☕

What a fun-filled day of coffee-shop role play, creativity and learning through play! 🤎

Our little Tiddlywinks coffee makers got busy creating and running their very own coffee shop! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳☕ The children took turns being customers and coffee shop staff, taking orders, serving drinks and using their imaginations to bring their café to life.

We also explored our physical skills as we poured, scooped, stirred and carefully carried our cups,developing hand-eye coordination, control and confidence along the way. 👐✨

And of course, there was plenty of mark-making in coffee! ☕✏️ The children enjoyed making patterns, lines and early writing marks using coffee as a wonderfully sensory medium, supporting their fine motor development and early literacy skills.

A lovely opportunity to combine role play, communication, physical development and early writing skills in a fun, hands-on way.

TIDDLYWINKS NURSERY BURY

A Day in the Life of a Tweenie:

8:15am: Clock in. ✅
Arrive with Mummy, belongings on peg, cuddle with key carer. Very important first task of the day: BREAKFAST.

9ish: Make several important phone calls. 📞
Explore the loose parts.
Move approximately 47 objects from one place to another for no apparent reason.
Have nappy changed.
Continue working.

Lunchtime: Big drink. Dinner. 🍽️
Honestly, I’ve earned it.

Nap time: Out of office. Do not disturb. 😴💤

Afternoon shift: Wake up, have another play, investigate absolutely everything and generally keep everyone very busy.

Tea: Refuel for home.

Home time: Mummy arrives. Clock out. 👋

Another extremely demanding day in the life of a Tweenie complete.
Same time tomorrow? 😂💗

This special celebration is a beautiful time to come together with loved ones, share precious moments, show gratitude and enjoy the beauty of the full moon. 🌕✨

We hope your celebrations are filled with happiness, laughter, delicious mooncakes and lots of special family memories. 🥮❤️

📚✨ We’ve been having lots of fun at Tiddlywinks Ancoats exploring the wonderful books of Julia Donaldson!

We made our very own Scrambled Snake and Roasted Fox for snack 🐍🦊, inspired by the imaginative world in her stories.

We also explored Monkey Puzzle, searching through the book to find and name all the different animals 🐒🦋🐘. It was a great way to encourage observation, discussion and animal recognition.

Using The Smeds and The Smoos as inspiration, we got creative and designed and made our very own aliens 👽🚀. We loved using our imaginations to think about what our aliens might look like and bringing our ideas to life!

What a fantastic time of storytelling, creativity, discovery and imagination at Tiddlywinks Ancoats! 🌟📖🎨
