✨ After last week's incredible A level results we could not be more proud or delighted today to celebrate our best ever GCSE results!🎉🎉
An outstanding 76.4% of grades achieved by our phenomenal Year 11 students were 9 -7 (equivalent to the highest possible A** grade to A) with over half of all grades achieved being 9 and 8 (A** & A*)✨
HUGE congratulations to this fantastic cohort for a truly brilliant outcome, the strongest results in our school's history, and a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment not only of our students but of our staff, and of the support of our amazing wider school community of parents and carers.
It has been lovely to celebrate together today, and even to welcome some family pets to the celebrations! 🐕
We have also been delighted to enrol a high number of our Year 11s and students from other schools into our Sixth Form, and we look forward to welcoming them back in September!
Congratulations again to all, enjoy every bit of your moment and of your well-deserved success!🤍

The wait is almost over! Wishing Year 11 the very best of well-deserved success tomorrow, we're extremely proud of all your hard work and we can't wait to welcome you in the morning from 9.30am in the Main Hall to collect your results!
For students who will be registering for our Sixth Form tomorrow: just a reminder that we have arranged staggered timings for your convenience and once you have received your results, please confirm and enrol in the LRC at the following times:
Current UGS GCSE students - from 9.30am
Students transferring to UGS from other schools - from 11am

🌟Huge congratulations to our amazing Year 13 A level Class of 2026 for their incredible results today, we could not be more delighted, with 73.8% of all grades achieved being A*-B, another great year for UGS 6th form! 🎉
We are also incredibly proud of each individual student's success, with many of our Year 13 students having successfully secured places at university to study courses ranging from Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Architecture, Engineering, Biomedical Science, Psychology to a huge variety of fields, and at universities including those in the Russell Group, and ranging from Durham, York, Manchester, Warwick, Leeds, Liverpool and Bristol to name just some. We also have students who will be taking up places on Degree Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships.
It has been a privilege and pleasure to celebrate this morning with our students, parents & carers, and to share the journey of this fantastic cohort, and we wish them all the very best of luck and well-deserved success with their next steps. We can't wait to see all that they achieve!🤍

🌞We hope you're having a fantastic summer and enjoying the fabulous weather! We're proudly excited to share an update on Miss Derby's time in Rotterdam, where she competed in the World Masters Hockey World Cup 🏑🏆with Alliance International Hockey Club, in what was a truly fantastic experience and tournament for all, both on and off the pitch.
In a magnificent achievement, they made it to the semi finals, only narrowly losing to England, the tournament winners, and finishing fourth overall, after battling valiantly against a very strong Australia in the Bronze medal play off💪💪The Alliance's achievement is even more remarkable in light of the fact that, as it was a World Cup with players hailing from 3 different continents, they were only able to have one training session before the tournament! Incredible! With huge congratulations to the team for your success on the world stage 🎉 🎉Now enjoy the pics! 🤍

What better way to end what has been a brilliant year at UGS than with a fantastic house assembly, opening with a blistering performance of Champagne Supernova from Arlo, Will, Jacob, Jedrek & Edward, supported by Mr Harrison, our House leaders were then delighted to introduce our new House Prefect team. Next Mr Regan led our extracurricular engagement awards, celebrating Bronze, Silver & Gold winners 🎉 Then it was time to look back on all our other recent house competitions and initiatives & to celebrate the winners, including the David Attenborough nature photography competition, LRC and library house events, and successes in Debating, in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators and in player management and Year 9 Battle of the Bands, with the big reveal of the winners: well done to Pete, Srikrish, Arees & Harry for their epic rendition of Wonderwall, which we all then got to enjoy in a grand finale!
We celebrated all the top house point scorers and Year group champions, and then it was time for Sports Day and a showcase of all the records broken and the breaking news that Mersey house were overall winners, well done!🎉
Next up 6th form Sports Day & Year 12 Interhouse football - congratulations to Park, winners of both!🎉
But finally...it was time to reveal and celebrate which House ends the year lifting the cup & topping the leaderboard... HUGE congratulations to ... ORME!🎉🎉🏆
And our top 2 Orme house point collectors Nell & Charlie and our Orme house Prefects can be seen proudly lifting the trophy!
A totally brilliant end to the year, well done to all of our amazing students & wishing all in our UGS community a fabulous summer!🤍
