Hey everyone!

We are happy to announce the UoM Algorithmic Trading Society has been approved.

We would now like to explain why we created this society and what activities our members can expect to take part in.

This society aims to highlight the power of coding in trading systems. Over 70% of stock market transactions are now claimed by automated systems. This is in part because of the speed and responsiveness programming brings to the world of trading.

We created this society to bring together like-minded people to brainstorm and test trading strategies. Our activities will be online for the time being, and we will be using Discord for our meetings. We will likely start with crash courses in coding and/or trading, to make sure our coding and market understanding are all at the same level.
