At TMC, we are trained by industry professionals who are incredibly supportive and hardworking. I feel so lucky to learn from them, and seeing their talent through choreography, dedication, advice, and guidance motivates me to push myself even further. I love this course because it blends all three aspects of Musical Theatre so well. I genuinely mean it when I say I’m excited to come to college every day to learn from my teachers.

I love all my classes, especially jazz, which I’ve always enjoyed due to my previous dance training. I can already see my technique improving in both ballet and jazz, as well as in acting and singing with Scott, who pushes us in every single lesson to be ready and sound incredible for our showcase—which I am so, so excited for!

Since joining TMC, I can honestly say I’ve gained the most incredible group of friends, despite only being here for four months. The relationships and bonds I’ve made so far are friendships that will last a lifetime. Being surrounded by people who are just as passionate about Musical Theatre as I am pushes me to better myself and step out of my comfort zone. I feel incredibly honoured to be part of such a strong, talented cohort, growing together to become the best we can be. We already love and support each other so much, and I really think it shows.

Despite applying to colleges with A-Level options, I knew the moment I stepped into TMC that this was where I wanted to be. From the moment I walked onto the fourth floor, the atmosphere was immediately welcoming—something I didn’t feel at any other college I visited. The idea of being the only person from my high school on the course was terrifying, but it gave me even more motivation to prove myself, and that drive pushes me every day. I feel at home here.

To future students, all I can say is enrol. Take that step. And be prepared. It is hard work—but that’s the industry you are being trained for. I truly cannot imagine how my life would have turned out if I hadn’t chosen this college.

Meet Erin! 🎭✨ Hear about her journey at TMC Performing Arts on the Musical Theatre course!

I have been training in Musical Theatre on and off since a young age, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized I wanted to take it further and make the thing I love and enjoy the most my career. After participating in numerous showcases and productions with Bowden Theatre Works, I discovered that Natalie Bowden teaches at TMC. This knowledge further motivated me to audition for the college, as I was aware of the incredible standards it upholds.

At first, I was unsure where to look to pursue Performing Arts in higher education, but after hearing from friends that TMC provides a supportive and professional environment, I was eager to attend one of the open days. After seeing the college for myself, I knew it was exactly where I wanted to train—the facilities were incredible, the staff was welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. The audition process was nerve-racking yet exciting, and when I found out I had been accepted into my course, I was over the moon. The nerves were well worth it.

Since starting in September, the training has been non-stop, helping me improve in all aspects of the course in such a short space of time. The teachers at TMC are industry professionals who strive for excellence and push students to achieve the highest standards while also supporting us in areas where we struggle.
The people I have met and the friends I have made on this course are some of the most incredibly talented, humble, and thoughtful individuals. I am unbelievably grateful not only to be doing what I love but also to be sharing the experience with people who make it even more special. Since September, in such a short time, I have formed meaningful connections and met some incredible people whom I know will be lifelong friends.

To anyone considering The Manchester College, I would simply say: just do it! You won’t regret it. The environment is incredible, the people are amazing, and the opportunities are invaluable.

“Here at TMC, we are not just friends—we are a family. The training I have received in the time I’ve been here has gone above and beyond what I ever expected. It is industry-standard training with industry-experienced teachers who consistently go the extra mile to ensure we get the most out of our time here. I can confidently say I have never felt more accepted and supported in any other space.

We are constantly encouraged to take that brave step and push ourselves out of our comfort zones, which has helped me overcome so many fears and improve in all aspects of this course. Nothing makes learning more fun than having supportive teachers who see your potential and make you feel as if anything is possible if you work hard enough and truly want it.

Upon starting college this year, I found myself overwhelmed with worries and anxiety—fears of not being good enough, fears of not fitting in. But within my first week, those thoughts completely disappeared. Not only do I have so many people believing in me, but I am also able to be myself unapologetically. I am praised and embraced for who I am as a whole.

At TMC, not believing in yourself is not an option. With teachers like these, it is impossible to doubt yourself when such inspiring figures are constantly cheering you on every step of the way.

Not only is our training beyond any standard you would expect, but in just four months, I have already made some of the best friends I could ever have. The unconditional support from my peers, along with the never-ending laughter and love, truly contribute to what makes TMC so special.

As someone who once thought the education system would never work for me, I encourage you to take that leap and give it another chance. You never know how well things could turn out for you—how will you ever find out if you don’t take a chance on yourself? Sometimes, you have to be uncomfortable to become comfortable again, and TMC is truly the place to find that contentment. Here, you are welcomed with open arms, ready to embrace you for exactly who you are.”

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Cole Porter 🌟

Cole Porter studied Dance at The Manchester College from 2013/14 to 2017, where he built the foundations of his professional dance journey. After graduating, Cole continued his training with a Diploma in Dance at The Hammond, further refining his skills and passion for the industry.

Cole is now performing with Royal Caribbean International as a Production Dancer on Radiance of the Seas, travelling the world and living his dream.

🌟Alumni Spotlight: Lauren Shuttleworth🌟

Lauren Shuttleworth studied at The Manchester College from 2017 to 2019 on the Dance course. Following her time at TMC, Lauren progressed to The Hammond to further her training.

Lauren is now working with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, showcasing her talent as a professional dancer onboard.

We are incredibly proud of Lauren’s journey and wish her continued success in her career!

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Alyssa Coyle 🌟

Alyssa Coyle studied Dance at The Manchester College from 2017-2019, where she laid the foundation for her professional career. After graduating, she progressed to The Hammond for a 3-year Diploma in Dance, honing her technical skills and artistry.

Alyssa is now working as a Singer/Dancer on Celebrity Cruises, travelling the world while performing. She has recently accepted her second contract with the company, continuing to pursue her passion for performing arts.

WELCOME BACK AND INDUCTION WEEK!

Hello everyone, there has been a change in the induction timetable. All level 1/2’s and Level 3 first years will now be in on Monday 5th September from 9-4:30pm. You should have had a communication through on your emails and college portal. All second years you will start back on 12th September. Please be in all black uniform and bring a pair of indoor shoes/pumps for the studios. We can’t wait to welcome you all to the new city centre campus.
