I’m hearing from so many Year 6 parents of children with EHCPs who still don’t know which school their child will be attending in September—while their peers already have their places confirmed.

For families who are already stretched and navigating complex needs, this uncertainty is incredibly stressful.

Right now, the system simply isn’t working as it should. It’s under-resourced and struggling to support the very children and families who rely on it most.

The proposed changes in the white paper may help, but real improvement will require proper investment and a stable, supported workforce to make sure families get the support they deserve.
