🐚 The ocean is such a strange, beautiful place when you really think about it. 🌊

It holds salt, shells, seaweed, storms, tiny creatures and entire hidden worlds beneath the surface. It changes constantly, but still feels ancient. People have always gone to it to cleanse, gather, heal, leave offerings and collect little pieces of it to bring home. 🪸

Shells have been worn as charms, kept for protection and used in ritual for centuries. They also make beautiful tools for touch and energy work. Running them through the hair, tracing them around the scalp and moving slowly with the hands makes the ritual feel even more sensory. 🌀

Perhaps that is why water-based rituals feel so natural to the body too. A bath, a shower, washing your hair, soaking your feet or even stopping to drink a glass of water can change the whole mood of a moment.

The ocean gives us so many ways to reconnect with our senses, even when we are nowhere near the shore. 🌊🐚

Black tea for the scalp ☕️🌿

Apparently in Britain, we drink around 100 million cups of tea every single day, 😱 so I thought it was time the scalp had its own little cup too!

This is a simple black tea hair rinse, brewed strong and dark, then cooled and poured through the roots. 💆‍♂️

Black tea has that deep, tannin-rich feel, and the caffeine gives it that awakening, almost old-fashioned tonic energy ✨

There’s something really lovely about taking something so familiar, like a cup of tea, and turning it into a little botanical ritual for the hair. 🫖 ☕️

Patch test first, avoid irritated scalps, and be careful if you have very light blonde hair as black tea can stain. ✅
