We had such a lovely time in Year 2 diving into β€˜The Colour Monster’

The children worked in pairs to help the monster untangle his mixed-up emotions, coming up with fantastic new words for how he was feeling. It was wonderful watching them discuss, share ideas and help each other figure out the difference between feeling just a bit happy versus ecstatic.

It was amazing to see their teamwork in action and hear their vocabulary grow in real time!

πŸ‘Ά Nursery & Pre-Prep: Please park safely outside school and wait by your vehicle. Staff will bring your child directly to you.

πŸŽ‰ Welcome Back! πŸŽ‰

We are delighted to welcome everyone back for the new term at Forest Park! As we begin using our new school driveway system, please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the arrangements below.

πŸš— DROP-OFF

8:30am – Nursery & Pre-Prep
8:40am – Reception & Year 1
8:50am – Years 2 & 3
Years 4–6 – Please drop off nearby and walk the remaining short distance independently, or walk/cycle directly from home.

🏫 COLLECTION
3:30pm – Nursery & Pre-Prep
3:40pm – Reception & Year 1
3:50pm – Years 2 & 3
Years 4–6 – Pupils are encouraged to walk home or meet parents at a designated local pick-up point away from the school entrance.

🚢 WALKING BUS
Our fully staffed Walking Bus will continue from the Oaklands Drive car park until further notice. Families from all year groups are welcome to book a place. As Oaklands Drive is due to close in the near future, we are working with The Salvation Army at The Citadel to secure a long-term alternative location. More information will follow.

🚸 NEW PEDESTRIAN ENTRANCE
Our new pedestrian gate is located next to Bruntwood, opposite the Early Years playground, and should be used for all foot traffic to and from school.

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER
Please DO NOT PARK OR WAIT on the double yellow lines outside school. This creates significant safety risks for children and obstructs traffic entering and leaving the new driveway.

On-street parking is available on Ashlands and nearby streets, with Marks & Spencer being the nearest car park within walking distance.

Where possible, we strongly encourage families to walk or cycle to school to help reduce congestion around the school gates.

Thank you for your continued support, patience and cooperation as we introduce these new arrangements. Our priority is, as always, keeping our children safe.

We look forward to a fantastic new school year!
