Wow!! They finally did it!

After 2 whole years of learning British Sign Language after school with Kim-unicate and being active in the Deaf community Tilly, Beth and Lana have passed all three of their exams and become formally BSL Level 1 Qualified under the Ofqual regulated signature framework!!

Not only did they pass all three of their exams, they passed them all first time too! No re-sits over here!

As a school we are immensely proud of the girls for representing Pike Fold and our values within the Deaf community - they have received so many wonderful comments regarding their signing throughout their time meeting native Deaf people.

Keep an eye out for these three interpreters in the making popping up in the corner of your TV screens in the next few years!!

Christmas Hamper Nominations 2025 Now open!

Our school is committed to supporting every member of our community, especially during the holiday season.

If you know a family who may be finding things a little harder this Christmas, or if indeed this is yourself, we encourage you to nominate them (or you) to receive a confidential food hamper.

These hampers are a way for us to share kindness and ensure that every family can enjoy a warm, happy holiday.

Nominations can be made discreetly, and no information will be shared.

Did you know that one of our staff members is a qualified British Sign Language trainer?
Did you know that we run a British Sign Language after school club?
Did you know that children can take formal exams to be come formally qualified in BSL?

These three girls are our Pike Fold Pioneers in British Sign Language!! They recently took their BSL 101Y exam and all passed which means they are well on their way to becoming Level 1 qualified!!

Well done girls, this is an excellent achievement 👏🏻

Three more first time passes!! These girls have been learning after school with Kim-unicate for a while now and last week they sat their first Signature exam ever!!! And guess what?! They all passed!!

They'll be fully qualified in no time!!

These girls are pioneers for Pike Fold Community Primary School in ☺️

There are not many children learning BSL let alone taking Ofqual regulated exams!!

They have all already received their first three credits towards their university applications by passing this exam at just 10 years young!!

Absolutley awesome work from the original Kim-unicate signing group 🤟

Adult Education and Preparation for Work at Pike Fold Community Hub!!......

We have a range of short courses available for parents and carers and the wider community of Pike Fold via our Community Hub!

Following these short courses, many adults have gone on to study further courses such as English, Maths, L1 counselling, ESOL, L3 Education and Training, L2 Teaching Assistant to work with children with SEND, or they've got involved in volunteering which has boosted confidence and skills!

Not only are you able to access short courses and higher education courses for free at our hub, on your doorstep, but there is a wider overall impact on mental health and well being, confidence building and career progression!
