Welcome to the Reddish Vale High School.

Reddish Vale is a thriving mixed Foundation school, educating 1100 learners in the 11-16 range. We were the U.K.’s first Foundation School supported by a Co-operative Trust and we achieved academy status on 1st February 2012. We have some of the best educational and sporting facilities in the North West, and our dedicated teaching and support staff help all of our pupils become the very best that they can possibly be. We are very proud of Reddish Vale High School and of everything it has achieved.

Congratulations to Ivan C who made his debut tonight for Greater Manchester FA👏👏👏

Ivan has been selected from the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester which is a fantastic achievement. They can pick any player from all the Premier league and EFL clubs.

Ryan Crowther and Callum Warburton were the last Reddish Vale pupils to represent Greater Manchester. Both these players left our school 21 years ago which shows how difficult it is to represent Greater Manchester FA. We believe Ryan is still the youngest Stockport County captain at the age of 17 before moving to Liverpool FC. Callum was also a very talented player for Rochdale AFC before rupturing his achilles twice and ending his career⚽️⚽️⚽️

As mentioned previously Ivan has been training with England during the summer, he also plays for Preston NE academy, Stockport boys, the Year 9 school team and now Greater Manchester FA. This takes real dedication along with his school work🙌🙌🙌

The recent Year 8 PGL trip was a huge success! They enjoyed a variety of activities including giant paddle board, quick jump and zip wire, just to name a few!

Some of the pupils’ best moments included ‘helping someone on the zip wire’, ‘when I hit the board in axe throwing’ and ‘spending your night with your friends’!

A huge congratulations to former RVHS pupil Lewis Van Deursen, who has achieved the fantastic milestone of officiating in Super League Basketball! 👏🏀

During his time at Reddish Vale, Lewis was a dedicated and hardworking pupil who always showed great commitment. It is brilliant to see that dedication continuing to pay off as he progresses in basketball officiating.

Everyone at RVHS is incredibly proud to see one of our former pupils achieving at such a high level. What a fantastic achievement and a great example to our current pupils of where hard work and commitment can take you! 💙

On Friday Y11 GCSE Citizenship students enjoyed a session with local MP Navendu Mishra to support in developing their Theme B and wider Citizenship knowledge.

Students heard from Navendu about his role as an MP, what he does in Parliament and in the constituency and then took part in Q&A. Students asked really interesting and topical questions on a range of topics, from the death penalty to the voting system.

Navendu commented how well engaged the students were throughout the session.

Farm Friday Update!

This morning, a group of Year 8 farm club pupils arrived at school early and set about cleaning and organising the safety boots without being asked to do it, and were rightly proud of the result.

Our Year 7 and 8 intervention groups have been busy! This week, they designed, built and painted a fantastic bowl holder for our duck and chicken area, using 100% recycled wood. They then installed it in the quad, creating a practical and sustainable addition to our school environment.

As well as growing vegetables in our polytunnel, our Farm pupils also take responsibility for caring for the flowers and shrubs in our reception area. They take great pride in helping to keep our school looking welcoming and vibrant. They are now looking forward to getting involved in further planting projects around the school, adding colour, creativity and interest to our outdoor spaces.

The morning and after-school clubs on Mondays and Tuesdays have been extremely popular with our Year 7 pupils. Due to the high demand, we have added an additional session on Wednesday afternoon, although only a few spaces remain.

To ensure that all Year 7 pupils have the opportunity to take part, the clubs will operate on a six-week rotation, giving everyone the chance to enroll and enjoy the activities.

Our pupils have been busy preparing a raised bed in the polytunnel and planting a selection of winter vegetables, including broccoli and cabbage. They are looking forward to watching their plants grow and seeing the progress they make over the coming weeks.
