π Β£2,152 Raised β One Year of Love in Action! π
We are incredibly proud to announce that, together, our school community has raised an amazing Β£2,152 for charity during the last academic year!
This fantastic total reflects the generosity, compassion and commitment of our pupils, families and staff. From supporting international charities to helping organisations much closer to home, every fundraising event has been inspired by our desire to put our faith into action.
The total is even more remarkable because it does not include the incredible amount raised by one of our Year 1 pupils, who walked 100 miles in October to raise money for the National Autistic Society. What an inspiring achievement!
While we celebrate the money raised, we are equally proud of the service that has accompanied it. Whether volunteering at the foodbank, supporting our local community, caring for God's creation, visiting others or standing in solidarity with those in need, our children have shown that making a difference is about far more than fundraising alone.
This is Catholic Social Teaching in actionβliving out the Gospel through love, service and compassion.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising and charitable work throughout the year. Together, we have shown what can be achieved when a community comes together in faith and service.
One year of love in action. β€οΈ

π₯ Gold Mark Award for St John Fisher! π₯
We are absolutely delighted to announce that St John Fisher Catholic Primary School has achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year! π
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which recognises schools for their commitment to developing competitive sport both within school and across the wider community. We are incredibly proud to have been recognised with this prestigious award.
This achievement reflects the enthusiasm, dedication and sporting spirit of our pupils, who have represented the school brilliantly in a wide range of local inter-school competitions throughout the year. We are equally proud of our young sports leaders, volunteers and officials, whose support has helped make so many sporting events possible.
To achieve the Gold Mark, schools must meet rigorous criteria across participation, competition, leadership and extra-curricular sport. This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our pupils, staff and the wider school community in ensuring that every child has the opportunity to enjoy, participate and succeed in sport.
A very special thank you goes to Mr Kilheeney for his unwavering passion, enthusiasm and dedication to providing our children with so many sporting opportunities. His commitment has inspired our pupils to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong love of physical activity.
Well done to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud to be a School Games Gold Mark school! π

ππ We Are a Force for Good 2026 Winners! ππ
We are absolutely delighted to announce that St John Fisher Catholic Primary School has been named the Be A Force for Good Award 2026 winner!
As part of this fantastic achievement, we have been awarded Β£1,000, which will be invested into our ongoing environmental work and sustainability projects.
At St John Fisher, we strive to ensure that our pupils not only learn about Gospel values but actively live them out through charitable outreach, environmental stewardship and acts of service.
Inspired by Pope Francis' Laudato Si', our dedicated Laudato Si' Warriors lead a growing programme of environmental action. Working alongside staff and community partners, they help implement our Sustainability Action Plan as we work towards the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award while embedding the principles of the CAFOD LiveSimply Award.
Our pupils care for our orchard, grow fruit and vegetables, recycle and repurpose plastic waste, promote biodiversity, maintain our Prayer Garden, explore environmental issues through Earth Day activities and encourage our whole school community to 'Look after God's World.' Through these experiences, our children understand that caring for creation is not simply an environmental responsibility, but a fundamental expression of their Catholic faith.
This award is a wonderful recognition of the passion, commitment and hard work of our pupils, staff, governors and wider school community. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to using the Β£1,000 to continue making a positive impact on our environment.
A big thankyou to Mr Hyde who made us aware about the award and for his guidance for our applictaion.
Together, we are proving that even the smallest acts of kindness, service and care can bring about lasting change. ππ±π

They will all be greatly missed by pupils, staff and families alike, but we wish them every success and happiness in the next chapter of their careers.
Thank you for everything, and good luck in your new roles. You will always be part of our school family. ππ

π Congratulations to Our Caritas Catholic Social Teaching Award Winners! π
A huge congratulations to these amazing girls on being awarded the Caritas Catholic Social Teaching Award.
After hearing about the firefighters working tirelessly around the clock to tackle the moorland fires, the girls decided to give up their own pocket money and asked their mum if they could buy supplies to support them. What a wonderful act of kindness and generosity.
By the time they had gathered their donations, the firefighters had been overwhelmed by the incredible support from the local community and no longer needed additional supplies. Without hesitation, the girls were delighted for the items to be donated instead to St Mary's Foodbank, ensuring their kindness could still make a real difference to those in need.
We are incredibly proud of these girls for showing such compassion, generosity and selflessness. They have truly lived out the values of Catholic Social Teaching and demonstrated what it means to put love into action.
Well done, girls β you are an inspiration to us all. β€οΈπ
