🌍 Earth Day at Blackley Academy – 22nd April 🌱
Children from across the school celebrated Earth Day with a range of exciting activities, showing their care for our planet. 💚 From sorting recycling, a sustainable fashion show and planting using recycled materials, to motivational speeches about climate change and creative poster work, pupils demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm and creativity. 🌿♻️

A special mention to Team A, who made it all the way to the final, finishing in the top two teams across Manchester. An incredible achievement!

Although they didn’t take the overall win, they spoke with eloquence, style and professionalism throughout, doing us incredibly proud and showing just how much their speaking and listening skills have developed.

💼📊 A big thank you to HSBC for visiting us to deliver engaging economic education workshops for all of our pupils from Nursery to Year 6!

The sessions were informative, interactive and really helped bring important money and life skills to life. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed taking part and learned so much along the way.

We’re very grateful for the time and expertise shared — a fantastic experience for all involved!

March in our academy has been all about books! World Book Day kicked off the month, followed by a group of pupils attending the See Myself in Books festival in Manchester. Today, we are hosting our second free book fair, thanks to The Children’s Book Project. All pupils will be taking home two lovely new books, thanks to the amazing work this charity does. We hope the pupils enjoy their new reads!

In Reception, we have been reading the book Oliver’s Vegetables. The children enjoyed learning about the different vegetables in the story and had the opportunity to taste some of them. We then worked together to make our own vegetable soup. It was delicious! 🥕
