Congratulations to our Y11 students collecting their GCSE results today.

Their results reflect their hard work, determination and resilience throughout their time at our school. From outstanding individual achievements to fantastic progress across the board, there was plenty to celebrate today.

It has been fantastic to see our students celebrating their achievements and sharing their destinations for the next stage of their journey, whether that's sixth form, college, apprenticeships or beyond.

We're incredibly proud of every one of our Year 11 students. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, families and everyone who has supported them along the way.

Congratulations, Year 11! We can't wait to see where vour journey takes you next.

GCSE Results Day Reminder

Good luck to all our students receiving their GCSE results tomorrow!

Results can be collected from the Main Hall between 10:00am and 11:30am.

We look forward to seeing you and celebrating your achievements. Whatever your results, remember that everyone at school is incredibly proud of the hard work, resilience and determination you have shown throughout your studies.

Some of our new Year 7 students have joined us this week for an action-packed Summer School — and we have certainly broken the ice over the last couple of days! 🎉

From making Harry Potter-inspired spells 🪄 and getting creative in our art sessions 🎨, to having a go at drumming 🥁, there has been something for everyone. We’ve also enjoyed plenty of sporting activities 🏃‍♀️⚽ and had a very exciting visit from Safari Phil, who introduced us to some creepy crawlies and reptiles! 🐍🕷️

Our students have behaved impeccably throughout and have already made a fantastic impression. We’re incredibly proud of them and can’t wait to welcome them properly to Dixons Middleton Academy as they begin their secondary school journey with us in September. 💙

Well done, Year 7 — we’re looking forward to seeing you again very soon! 👏

…and just like that, our school is closed for the summer.

Today we congratulated our long term staff collecting their 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 year awards.

We know that our school is built on relationships and consistency, and these staff, who have shown such an impressive commitment to our school, deserve our thanks.

We wish all of our students and their families a happy and healthy summer break, and we look forward to seeing our new year 7s on Friday 4th September and the rest of the school on Monday 7th September.

KS3 Girls Festival Tournament
This month we celebrated the achievements of our girls' KS3 team with a tournament at Manchester United's Cliff training ground. In addition to playing in several mini tournaments they also attend a female focused session on overcoming barriers to sport. A big thank you to the Manchester United Foundation for supporting the event, and well done to the team- enjoy your well earned prizes!

Huge congratulations to Sarah in year 10 for winning the KS4 Monologue category in the first ever Dixons Drama Festival! 🎭

What makes this achievement even more special is that Sarah wrote the monologue herself—highlighting her incredible talent as both a writer and performer!

The competition was fierce, with 16 entries involving 42 students from five academies, making this a truly fantastic accomplishment.

Proud is an understatement. Well done, Sarah!
